I hoisted it again. "Are you serious, brother?" I couldn't hold back the chuckle. "You helped my wife." "She's family. And I really love my nieces." It went silent again. I needed to talk before this shit enclosed me. "Brother, Can we meet?" I heaved. I wanted my brother back. Who punched me after a warning and hugged me, stood for me whenever I needed him. "You okay?" He had shown care after years. "Our usual place." I disconnected it.

A short sharp knock on the door announces my brother. When he steps in, father waves him over to stand next to him. Rising from his chair he looks at me. His eyes show disappointment and anger. “Hartley, today you showed your worst side. You shoved one of your own, a fellow student, a team mate to the ground for all to see. Costing her life. You used one of our residents as a shield. In front of our army. in front of your fellow students. in front of ME!” His voice is thunderous as he continues preaching.

"Did you just.. call me brother?" I sniffled. "Yes I did, asshole. Don't make me take it back." "I know this is a very grim situation," Bryan commented,"But right now also kinda sorta happens to be one of the finest moments of my life." And for that answer, he received a punch to his shoulder, as I shot him a rueful smile. "Asshole." I stood up then, and as soon I was like two steps forward and heaved a slight sigh of relief, just as instantly, I was wrapped in a hug that came from Cameron.

He just pulled out of the parking area and drove through the city. We eventually stopped at a quieter street and he cut the engine. A few people were walking and only one shop still had its lights on across the road. “Friday,” he said. “Yes,” I responded. He was quiet. “I’m not going to pretend it didn’t happen,” he said. I didn’t respond. “And I’m not going to behave as if it was a mistake,” he said. His words were quiet and measured. But his usual composure was missing underneath. “But I need you to know that I know what it means,” he said, finally looking at me. “Where we are. What this building is and what my brother and father are watching for.”

Anna answered shortly and Brian smiled widely hearing it The three of us chatted for a while and I saw Damian walk toward us. I got up from my chair and gave him a hug. “Once again, congrats brother!” I patted his shoulder “Thanks Fai! I won’t be here without you! Brian and Anna too, thanks!”

Leo asked, hopeful our relationship could return to how it used to be. "We never stopped being cousins, Leo. You've helped me a lot," I told him, emphasizing our unbroken bond. His face lit up with a happy smile, and he hugged me. I couldn't help but let out a growl, but Leo didn't seem to mind and continued the embrace. Despite my initial resistance, I had to admit it felt good to have a brotherly figure around. Ever since I was forced to take my older brother's life, I've felt the absence of a sibling deeply. Leo has filled that void in his own way, making sure I never felt alone or missed having a brother.
