By the time Brynn released Agatha, her face was swollen and streaked with blood and not even her eyes could be seen. She collapsed to the ground, choking on her sobs. Frynn spat on the stones beside her. "Pathetic. This is the creature Crimson Pack puts forward as a daughter and a Luna? As an example?" I stepped forward then, placing a soft hand on Brynn’s arm. He stilled, and for a moment his eyes softened as he glanced at me. That was enough, just enough to remind everyone watching who I was to them.

Don’t tell me you work in IT.” I say as I remember Carter telling me his ex-used to work with him. “Oh, so you did tell her about Angela.” She teases Lucas and he just rolls his eyes, “No, I am not Angela, his ex and to put you at ease. I am happily married with a kid. Lucas and I are just coworkers. Well, I am his boss actually.”

I was going to be the one to do it one way or the other, I needed to play this game. The door opened without warning, and I quickly slipped back into character, fragile, sweet, grateful. I looked up with wide eyes as the woman I had come to destroy stepped into the room. Sienna De Luca. She didn’t speak right away. Her gaze swept over me, taking in the sight of me still in the robe the maids had given me. She looked too calm, too unreadable. Brynn’s POV Brynn’s team brings in a new publicist to manage the press fallout from the shooting. Her name is Lena Brooks, mid-thirties, sharp-eyed, with the kind of dry humor that survives a crisis instead of folding under it. She arrives in an Uber at the production office Monday morning with a leather portfolio and a tablet, wearing a blazer that probably costs more than my monthly rent and carrying an attitude that suggests she’s solved worse problems before breakfast.
