The smell of burning flesh is thick and disgusting, filling all my senses and making my eyes water. “What the fuck?” he turns, dropping the crying dragon, who immediately starts humming once it’s no longer being assaulted. I ignore the man and reach for the two dragons in the nest still, and am surprised when I am able to scoop them up into my arms. I had half expected them to go right through me.

But it was their hair that caught my attention - instead of flowing locks, snakes slithered from their scalps, their beady eyes seeming to stare right at me. Water spouted from the snakes' mouths, creating a mesmerizing display. I peered into the fountain, and my eyes widened as I spotted a kaleidoscope of fish swimming in the depths. Koi fish darted past, their scales shimmering in the sunlight. And then, I saw them - Nemo and Dory, their cartoon faces unmistakable.
