Moon Touched
I’ll tell you everything when we return, and once we’ve sent them to the realm of the gods.
The walk back to Night Whispers was long, quiet, and heavy. Every step was deliberate. Every breath a struggle against the grief pressing in on all of us. I hadn’t known vampires could cry until I saw the crimson trails staining Bob’s pale face. I gently nudged the girls, silently letting them know, not to embarrass him, but to remind them we weren’t alone in our sorrow.
Even the alphas wore their grief openly. They hadn’t known of Isla or her pups until recently, but it didn’t matter. The guilt still clung to us all.
