The six eyes blinked. Astraea’s little voice became fierce. “My name is Astraea.” Something cracked across the heavens. Caelum laughed. “Good.” The six eyes turned toward him. RETURN HER. Caelum’s silver and black eyes ignited. “No.” The stars surrounding him became weapons. “She’s not yours.” Then the sky came down.

I couldn't tell where my shaking stopped and theirs began. He landed, tucking his wings in tight to his body, his tail swinging around and settling in front of his forelegs. He had talons on his tail too. Three to be exact, three deadly spikes. His roar shook the ground, and we cringed. The pulsing waves of magic made it difficult to stand. I'd never felt magic, but something inborn, deep inside of me, knew it for what it was. I looked sideways at Chersa. Her head tipped downward, tears streaming from her eyes.

“What have we done?” ​Cael slowly lifted his head. His eyes were no longer solid black, nor were they silver. Each iris was split cleanly down the center—one half glowing with luminous silver, the other swallowed by absolute darkness. When he blinked, the two colors swirled like liquid, creating a terrifying, asymmetrical stare that made Lyra’s stomach turn. ​He looked directly at Lyra. “Run.” ​She shook her head violently, clutching her wounded palm to her chest. “I'm not leaving you here!”

CHAPTER XIII: Blood Pact Caya did not seem to be worried on how to deal with Deborah, right now. What was she planning to do? She aimed her bow at the sky and drew her light arrows on the golden light thread. “It’s not just you, Deb. I will surpass my limit, right here and right now. Celestial Realm Augmentation: Gemini’s Sanctuary!” Caya casted a spell using her grace, Gemini, and then fired several arrows into the sky.

Lucas muttered, crossing his arms to protect himself. At one blink, the small sphere exploded destructively, bursting with raging fire everywhere. The blast had blown Lucas away like a fly, slamming him against the wall, all bloody and burnt. “You underestimated my attack, Lucas. A Divine Spell can only be broken by another with the same class.” Kael returned his sword to its sheath as he walked towards Lucas. He could see the blood that splashed on the wall from the traitor’s back. “This is the end.” “Was that your new skill, then? It truly is devastating.”

Furthermore, he was so fast that Caelum’s heart trembled. In an instant, Caelum immediately unleashed the full power of a defensive artifact he obtained from Frosthaven Sect while also using his ultimate killer move. With a shout, a giant dragon soared into the world, lunging at the finger that seemed like a pillar. Boom! The explosion was as intense as before, but the result was vastly different. Under the finger’s power, the dragon disintegrated and turned into nothingness. Its remaining force even rebounded fiercely. “Pfft—”

“Power doesn’t care what we want. It only answers what we are.” For a moment, neither of us moved. The glow beneath my skin matched the light in his eyes and the gold meeting silver but until the air itself seemed to hold its breath. Then, suddenly, the light snapped outward. A wave of silver fire burst from my chest, harmless but brilliant, swirling like liquid moonlight before fading into mist. I stumbled back, gasping. Cael didn’t look afraid. He looked alittle haunted. “You’ve done this before,” he said quietly. “What?”

Cael wheezed, a dark, oily liquid beginning to leak from his eyes. Scarlett’s heart plummeted. She recognized that liquid—it was the same miasma she had seen during Caleb’s soul-coma. She rushed forward, her jade brush already out. “Caleb, let him go! He’s a vessel!” Before Caleb could react, Cael’s body contorted in a way that defied biology. A black, spectral vapor erupted from his mouth, forming a silhouette that looked disturbingly like the Silver Wolf—but twisted, rotting, and crowned with thorns.

He always did. Meanwhile, the scene before me takes an unexpected turn. Caelum’s transformation, something that once seemed impossible, unfolds right before my eyes.
