The door creaked open. Elias stepped in, cheerful and oblivious. "Oh good, you both are finally awake!" Cael leaned back in his chair and stretched. "Yep. Just your average morning — tiny girl manages to chuck a Beta twice her size 5 feet. I swear, I'm gonna have to start padding my ego around you. Can't have sparky the death witch bruising it every other week." Nova busted out laughing. Fin grinned. "Sparky the death witch?" Cael said, placing a hand over his heart. "It's a term of endearment. She's terrifying and adorable. The deadliest combination."

Lucas muttered, crossing his arms to protect himself. At one blink, the small sphere exploded destructively, bursting with raging fire everywhere. The blast had blown Lucas away like a fly, slamming him against the wall, all bloody and burnt. “You underestimated my attack, Lucas. A Divine Spell can only be broken by another with the same class.” Kael returned his sword to its sheath as he walked towards Lucas. He could see the blood that splashed on the wall from the traitor’s back. “This is the end.” “Was that your new skill, then? It truly is devastating.”

Furthermore, he was so fast that Caelum’s heart trembled. In an instant, Caelum immediately unleashed the full power of a defensive artifact he obtained from Frosthaven Sect while also using his ultimate killer move. With a shout, a giant dragon soared into the world, lunging at the finger that seemed like a pillar. Boom! The explosion was as intense as before, but the result was vastly different. Under the finger’s power, the dragon disintegrated and turned into nothingness. Its remaining force even rebounded fiercely. “Pfft—”

Elise glued their beaks and put them into the cage once again using her powers. Priestess Nehes was so furious with her. Elise returned the pair of ears of each one and cast a spell on her opponent. Their spells seemed to be the same as a silver spark appeared between them. Usually, when they threw spells at each other, there were red or green or gold sparks especially when they blocked or had a shield on. Elise knew it could happen that way when two opponents cast the same spell. It would neither misfire nor attack an opponent but meet halfway and thus created a silver spark. High Priestess Nefer’s knowledge informed her of this fact.

“Power doesn’t care what we want. It only answers what we are.” For a moment, neither of us moved. The glow beneath my skin matched the light in his eyes and the gold meeting silver but until the air itself seemed to hold its breath. Then, suddenly, the light snapped outward. A wave of silver fire burst from my chest, harmless but brilliant, swirling like liquid moonlight before fading into mist. I stumbled back, gasping. Cael didn’t look afraid. He looked alittle haunted. “You’ve done this before,” he said quietly. “What?”

Cael wheezed, a dark, oily liquid beginning to leak from his eyes. Scarlett’s heart plummeted. She recognized that liquid—it was the same miasma she had seen during Caleb’s soul-coma. She rushed forward, her jade brush already out. “Caleb, let him go! He’s a vessel!” Before Caleb could react, Cael’s body contorted in a way that defied biology. A black, spectral vapor erupted from his mouth, forming a silhouette that looked disturbingly like the Silver Wolf—but twisted, rotting, and crowned with thorns.

Celeste: “Sold.” We spend an hour picking the exact shade (deep storm-cloud purple with a faint shimmer that shifts to ocean teal when the light hits it).
