The Unexpected Affair

The Unexpected Affair

That was too much for me and that was worrying me a bit. Sophia felt like... the reasonable choice. Far enough from the mess, but near enough to hold the pieces. I dug into my bag, hands shaking, and pulled out my phone. It rang once. Then twice. “Lizzy, hey. This is a surprise.” I opened my mouth, but my voice cracked like thin ice. “I don’t want to drink again. I can’t drink again.” There was no pause, no judgment. “Okay,” she said gently. “Do you still stay at the same place?”

Suck Me Dry

Suck Me Dry

And the bond is already stronger than I thought. Fucking mess. Clearing my throat, I pick up my phone, texting the idiot. Don’t call him an idiot, the small voice protests, tugging at my heart. Fine. ‘Make sure you show up sobered and showered. I don’t want a drunkard to befoul my offices.’

Betrothed

Betrothed

Drinking into a stupor seemed like the only way to numb the pain that was consuming me. I didn’t feel like being around anyone but her; she was the only one who could extinguish this flame of hurt. "Hello..." I said in a sultry voice as I picked up the phone, my fingerprints confirming the call but not the caller's identity. "Who am I speaking with?" I asked hoarsely, still oblivious.

Alpha Azriel

Alpha Azriel

Until I hear the dial tone. Already it has been a week since the rut and another few weeks since I went back to our house to get my things. It’s funny how our dear ‘mother’ never bothered to contact us after I sent her the text about… The shrill ringtone pulls me out of my thoughts. I glare at the screen before swiping to answer. “Why did you call?” her voice comes high-pitched but her words are slurred. Ah, a classic of this woman to never be sober for a single minute of the day.

Until you call again.

Until you call again.

I'd been in bed the whole day just crying and sulking but now I needed to pick myself up again. I can't cry about it forever. After going through my contact list last night, my drunk brain had decided to call the last person sober me would've thought of. I couldn't call Tristan and I wasn't in the mood for Katie's judgements so I'd called my boss instead. I'd regretted that decision as soon as he showed up. He was on a date.

he said while i got confused with his talks. "Are you sober right now?" I asked to clear my doubts. "100%. Why so??" He asked. "As you are talking with me normally without my argument" i said clarifying. "Can’t i talk normally? And i have made some new year resolution?" He said while i got curious to know. "What?" I asked him. "Well list is too long. I can't discuss it on phone. Now i have to go. Bye" He said repeating my words and hang up the call without listening to me.

My Ex-Boyfriend's Billionaire Dad

My Ex-Boyfriend's Billionaire Dad

Woman qued while chatting to one another. I sighed heavily, I was a terrible drunk. Everything was depressing me. I leaned against the wall and pulled my phone from my pocket. My sober self was going to be pissed. But my drunk self didn't care. I dialed Wyatt's number and listened to the ring. "Kenz? Are you okay?" "Why do you always think I'm calling because I'm in trouble? I'm not a damsel in distress!" "Why are you shouting? Is that music? Where are you?"

"Then make a different choice." Andrew stared at the phone in my hand. "If I go back..." "You finish the program. All thirty days. No leaving early. No excuses." "And after?" "After, you work the program. Go to meetings. Stay sober. Show up for your daughters." I set the phone down. "And I help you. Not financially. But I check in. I hold you accountable. I don't let you disappear." "Why would you do that?"

(bxb)in love with him

“You can put this here, so that nobody would catch my place.” “No,” I say. “I don’t want to go looking for you if you choose to disappear.” “Dude, this is like the only place in the world that I wouldn’t want to disappear from.” He retrieves his phone and shakes it in front of my face. “And you can call me if you need anything else. Your number is the first on my speed dial now, you know that?” I hum uncertainly, more pleased with this information than I have any reasons to be. Still, letting him go somewhere alone in a place where he can possibly find drugs, alcohol or a quick hookup isn’t something I could allow.

Billionaire, Let's Divorce!

Billionaire, Let's Divorce!

One of the bar boys walked up to me, “What would you like, sir?“ “Anything. I rasped. Anything strong. Anything to keep me grounded.“ I felt like I was falling into a bottomless pit, going deeper with each second. The world around me began to fade into shadows. No matter how hard I tried to climb, I only sank deeper and it was as if I was allowing myself to get swallowed by the dark. And I couldn't let that happen. I remembered the promise I made to the doctor; “I’ll make sure she's always at her best.“ I can't do that when I'm this way. I need to get back in control. I took another gulp of the drink the bar boy brought and reached for my phone in my pocket. My fingers swiftly scrolled throu

J Kelley
The book is good. However, it's way too long. this could have been broken up into three or more books. I stopped reading after the Sydney and Mark story. The mix-up of names throughout the story got confusing, and then it went right into Aiden and his girlfriends story.
Pamela Carla
it’s honestly so ridiculous — it’s like he’s now an uncle to the baby. It’s confusing and disappointing that the author still made Mark and Sydney end up together. It felt like the author wasn’t sure who the male lead was supposed to be — and that’s when the story got messy.
