Kenji’s POV I seat myself at Luna Aiyana’s desk and wait for Jamari to make her way to me. Ren is pacing in my head making my human half anxious. Getting up, I turn to look out the window behind the Luna’s desk. Maybe some breathing exercises can help calm me and Ren. Slowly, I take a deep breath in for four seconds, hold for four seconds, release for four seconds, hold for four more seconds. By the end I can feel myself loosening up.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself. "I heard you!" He yelled grinding his teeth to keep it low. "So spit it out before I do something which a gentleman shouldn't do!" “So, is this your secret base?” “Yeah. My mom brought me here when I was little. It’s not a popular spot because it’s not developed, but I always come here to clear my head when I’m feeling down. Karl looked up at the beautiful night sky. “Sitting here, feeling the wind on my face, listening to the waves, and looking at the beautiful night sky makes me feel great to be alive and hopeful for the future. She had enough scars from the last eight months of training with him that she knew that would be the case. “Concentrate!” Rok barked at her as he almost caught her again and she had to dodge back out of the way again. She was on the defense, and she needed to get herself back into position to attack him again. She wasn’t concentrating; he was right. When she was focused, she could see all of the movements before Rok, or any other opponent she may face, made them. She could anticipate the swing of the sword, the kick of a leg, a step in her direction. But today, her focus was off, and she knew why.

Words fired out at machine-gun speed. "Why is the human looking at me? Does she like me? Does she hate me? Does she like or hate me? Why is she still circling me? "Will she nuzzle me? Can I nuzzle her? Does she like me? Does she hate me? What—" Her thoughts were annoyingly loud and chaotic. I pretended to circle her a few more times, but mentally, I was drowning in her psychic high-speed rambling. Rather than overthinking, I decided to go on the offensive and deploy some cunning tricks.

Ignoring everything in me that screamed to fight, I focus on Fineon again and took a deep breath. "Focus," I huff. ‘Focus.’ Letting out the breath, I close my eyes and wait in hopes that familiar feeling of power stirring will appear; when it doesn't, I push back the panic that wants to escape. ‘Stay calm,’ I urge myself silently. ‘Stay calm.’ As I focus, multiple howls erupt, followed by the sound of paws hitting the ground, and then pain shoots through me from claws digging into my flesh. Biting back the scream that wants to escape, I continue to focus until I feel something, but it’s so faint that I’m not sure if it will do any good.

He knelt down and held his head with both hands. ARRRGH! The young man screamed. He was in mental distress. "I understand what you mean. Never think about future events, just think about what is happening right now. You are not the Almighty, you don't have the power to witness what will happen in the future. Landon wasn’t going to get any pleasure in it. “Aww don’t be like that. I’m sorry. Let me explain then. I’m a mind reader. It was a gift that I was born with. It really does come in handy, but right now it’s driving me crazy. I’m not used to hearing someone’s mind twenty-for seven.” He was probably talking about Landon. He never slept so obviously he always had something in mind. “Yes, I am. It can be very annoying because he does it on purpose.” Landon came into view and chuckled a little.

Damien chuckled nervously. "I can try putting you out." Jackson said with a shrug. "Hazel used to have this happen to her a lot when she got upset after we met. She said it's based on her emotions. If you calm your mind, it should go away on its own." Darius said looking at me like this is just another day. "How do I calm my mind when there's so much running through it." I asked him as tears started to stain my face. "Close your eyes. Picture yourself in your happy place. Slow your breathing until they are smooth and equal." Darius said. I nodded to him and closed my eyes.
