Carol leans against the doorframe, her tired eyes fixed on Eunice, who sits on the floor, rolling a toy car back and forth with Aria. The toddler’s laughter rings out, bright and carefree, clashing with the heaviness in the room. “You’re leaving?” Carol’s voice is soft, but the weight of her words fills the space.

Surprisingly similar, save that one was bare, the other with just a trace of fine dark hair. "One, two, three, go!" said Caroline launching herself into a flat dive, her mother a heartbeat behind her. Carl watched, amused, as Caroline quickly established a lead. In the end, Caroline finished her tenth lap about three yards ahead of Judy finishing her eighth. They hung onto the edge of the pool, panting, until Judy lifted her head and spotted Carl. She smiled and held out her hand.

It was a book they had read countless times, but each time, it held a new magic, a new wonder for Theo. “Once upon a time,” Hazel began, her voice soft and soothing, “there was a little bear named Barnaby who loved to go on adventures.” Theo’s eyes widened, his attention captivated by the story. He listened intently, his tiny fingers tracing the illustrations, his imagination soaring with each word Hazel spoke. The story of Barnaby the bear, his adventures in the forest, his encounters with talking squirrels and mischievous rabbits, filled the room with a sense of magic and wonder. Theo giggled at Barnaby’s antics, his heart filled with joy.

They may be rambunctious like their daddy but I can definitely deal with them. I look around the room as I look at the decorations. Two dark wood cribs are next to eachother and the dark green room gives it a cave feeling. Sarah had suggested it because if they were bear shifters they would need that feeling from the time they were very young. I had no clue what it meant but I did it anyway. Woodland creature was the theme.

Claire The children's ward is decorated in bright, wonderful colours, with cartoon-style animals stuck on the walls and small teddy bears on each door with the room number on their chest. We pass by a recreational room, which has bean bags spread out in front of a tv and tables with paints, markers and cardboard set up. There's even a cupboard filled with toys, puzzles and board games. I hate the thought of any child feeling sick, but I'm glad they have something like this to make them feel a little better.

“He asked me why I’m not wearing the bangle…” Cara’s expression softened, a hint of guilt in her eyes. “Oh… I completely forgot about that. You know we have a couple of bangles, and I wear mine most of the time. When I got the accident, I took it off and… I forgot to give it to you.” Sara exhaled, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. “Wait here.
