The car nearly went off-road. Seeing their frantic movements, Vesper couldn't stop laughing as she wore her ring again. She soon continued her journey to the old ranch. The ranch had been a sanctuary once, a place where she, Carmilla, a 19th-generation vampire, and Elijah, a 21st-generation vampire, had dreamed bigger than the world they knew.
