“It’s perfect,” I insisted, undeterred by his resistance. “We just have to stuff a pillow in your stomach to make you look, you know, a little bigger.” I waved the costume at him cheerfully, my excitement bubbling over, but he shook his head again, still not swayed by my enthusiasm.
