I wasn’t really paying attention to what he was saying, I was thinking of other things. Did he get taller? I feel like he got taller since the last time I saw him, which is like only two days ago. Carter playfully greeted when he saw us and fist-bumped with Carter. "M'lady." He said and even bowed down so I playfully and lightly hit him on his head.

“Oh look at that,” Carter said, his voice completely flat. “I lost again.” Eric pumped his fist without looking away from the screen. “That’s seven in a row. You’re really terrible at this old man.” “Were both in our twenties, Eric, but thank you.” Carter snapped. Sure it was just a dumb game meant only to distract Eric, but Carter didn’t like losing. Carter watched with disgust as Eric celebrated his win by taking a huge bite out of the raw, bloody steak, chewing like an animal.

“But, I mean, if you’re that desperate, bro, I don’t mind jerking you off. Charity work. For old times’ sake.” I stared at him. Deadpan. For a full three seconds. Then I said, voice flat as asphalt, “Even as a joke, that wasn’t funny.” He threw his head back and howled while Ellis choked on his beer, coughing and laughing at the same time, tears actually forming at the corners of his eyes. It wasn’t fun being the fucked-up sideshow. I took one last drag then crushed the joint out in the ashtray so hard the glass cracked.

With a mischievous grin, he blurted out, "Mommy, Daddy, do you know what happened at school today? I saw a squirrel doing cartwheels in the playground!" His innocent comment took everyone by surprise, and laughter erupted around the table. Lucy's eyes crinkled with joy as she giggled, reaching out to ruffle Ethan's hair. Darren chuckled, his laughter resonating through the room. "Oh, really, Ethan? A cartwheeling squirrel? That must have been quite a sight!" Ethan nodded, his face beaming with pride. "Yes, Daddy! It was the funniest thing I've ever seen! All the kids were laughing and clapping. I wish you could have been there too!"

That's all, Gaby," I gritted my teeth, taking in all the control I could before I would snap and break his bones. Gosh! I hated the fact that Carter was still breathing. "That pack belongs to the rightful person, Carter. Don't you dare do anything stupid? Understood?" He whistled through his nose, then started laughing again. A deep frown creased my forehead as I watched him hit his knees as he laughed again and again. "Dear heavens, you're so funny, Gabriel. You should consider stand-up comedy, dude. What an amazing show you just put up?"

His twin hasn’t changed. “Our older cousin Carter is watching you,” he whispered to Eron, who had adjusted his seat and crossed his arms. “Who said I looked at them?” asked Eron, turning to Aaron. “Is it you? Don’t accuse me of that, Aaron! You’re not funny.” Aaron put his hands over his mouth. “Pftt…!” He burst out laughing because his twin was so serious, but the fact that Carter was far from them. “You look dumb,” said Aaron. Eron snorted and punched his twin, who only laughed at him.

“I mean, what are you doing in a storage closet at a fundraiser? You look like you’d rather be in court, or in a classroom” He huffed a quiet laugh. “Is it that obvious?” “Painfully” my mouth curved slightly. I noticed he smiled a faint smile but it was just for a second. His sharp dark green eyes shone in the dimly lit room. “This isn’t the first time we’ve been in a room together, alone” I blurted out. “That’s not funny,” Carter said coldly, but I could see through him. He didn’t find it funny but he was definitely amused.

When Director Cartman saw that scene, he became so angry that he fainted on the spot. Freya only knew about the incident in the evening, and she was stunned. She called Chase. “Did they really do it? Didn’t I tell you to take some intimate pictures only?” Chase sounded puzzled. “I find this weird too. All I wanted was to help you teach Linda a lesson.” “I’m sorry. Will the Cartman family come after you?” Freya felt a little guilty.

He was just joking.” and gave an ugly look to the old man. “What are you doing old man?’ he asked grandpa “Do you want to start a war here?”

Quinn snickers and puts it in the cart. “What’s so funny?” “Come on,” she says, holding up the carrot. “What?” She hikes up an eyebrow. “Do you have to be a serious fuddy-duddy all the time now that you’re a doctor?” “Fuddy-duddy?” “Yeah, a fuddy-duddy.” “I’ve never heard an adult say that.” She rolls her eyes. “Well, you are one. You can’t say you didn’t think the same thing I did when you saw that deformed carrot.”
