Case Closed Novels & Stories

It was so loud that it shook the doors and windows of the house. “I’m done listening to this damn kangaroo council!” I shouted as fury burned from deep inside me. “This elder council is hereby dissolved!” I shouted before storming past them and slamming my office door shut behind me. I needed to find out what was happening in Sebastian’s territory if I were to take him and all his people down. Nathaniel had been taken care of, and one by one I would find a way to get rid of all my damn problems! I started to check through the security cams I had placed all over their pack house. After a couple of tries, my laptop flew off my desk and smashed against the wall. Every single camera was dead, wh

Agnes The officer at the desk stared up at us for a moment, his eyes flicking back and forth between me and Elijah. My pulse was pounding a mile a minute beneath my skin in that weighted silence, and I immediately regretted coming here. I regretted it even more when the officer said those next words. “I’m sorry, but that case has been closed for too long.” Elijah’s eyebrows shot up. “What does that have to do with anything?”

She’d kicked and screamed until the doors slammed shut behind her. “Does the prosecution have anything else to add?” “No, Your Honor.” “Very well, this case is now closed.” I swayed back on my feet, utterly locked in a daze. Alexander curled his hands around my arms and tried to get me to focus. “You did it,” he said. “It’s over.” It’s over...Oh my God...It really was... Tears started to prickle in the corners of my eyes.

“This conversation… is over. The case has been closed already. Neither you nor Clinton can change my mind.” I rose from my seat, taking my belongings, “I'll order a cab,” I left, when he held me back, removing his grip from mine, “I'll talk when you are calm, my kids are waiting.” I left the café hailing a cab to my estate, I completely understood Clinton and Caleb's reaction, but as long as I survived the first incident. The culprit would be ready to attack more; I was forced to close the case to get closer to the culprit; as for now, everyone is a suspect.

“I knew I wasn’t imagining it.” Before I could respond, the door to Chief Calvin’s office swung open. His heavy footsteps sounded across the bullpen like war drums. I ended the call immediately. “Ashley,” Calvin’s deep voice boomed. I straightened in my chair. “Yes, sir?” He stopped in front of my desk, towering over me. “I wanted to inform you,” he said, his tone clipped, “that the investigation involving Michael Carter has been officially closed. Effective immediately.” I blinked. “Closed? But I thought we were still monitoring—”

Benjamin asked calmly, though I noticed his jaw tighten. The taller officer shook his head. “No problem. We are here regarding Lucy Blackwood’s case.” The sound of her name almost made me choke. My chest burned, and I had to lower my gaze so they wouldn’t see the flicker of panic in my eyes. Benjamin gave a small nod. “Go on.” The shorter officer stepped forward, a folder tucked under his arm. His voice carried a practiced weight, steady and rehearsed. “After five years of active investigation, with no solid leads and no progress, the Commissioner has decided to close the case. We are officially marking it unresolved.”

Looking back at the chat, Ariana saw Christina’s last message, never sent: “I have proof. Meet me tomorrow. If I’m not there, it means they found me first.” “This is bad. Really bad,” Ariana whispered to herself, crying herself to sleep. NEXT MORNING BNC HEADQUARTERS The phone on Jean Paul’s desk buzzed again, the sound sharp in the quiet office. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a heavy sigh before answering. “We’re sorry to inform you the case has been closed. The police ruled it a suicide. No evidence to suggest otherwise.” He clicked the call off, then pressed a button to signal the newsroom. “Thank you. I’ll inform the staff.” He set the phone down with a slow, tired motion.

“The investigation into your father’s death has been officially closed. The suspect, Rowan Blackwood, was not found guilty. There will be no further action.” “What?” I stood up immediately, my chair screeching back. “Miss Moretti—” I cut him off. “What do you mean the case is closed? He was the prime suspect. My father would never have met with him willingly. This is suspicious as hell!” Jackson’s tone was firm but calm. “Miss Moretti, I suggest you calm down. The case was closed due to a lack of evidence. Keeping it open any longer could damage both companies' reputations.”

Their bodies vanished. And I’m supposed to move on? “What do you mean closed?” I demand. “I never signed anything. I never gave permission. I have a right to see that file!” “Miss, the case is closed,” he repeats, irritation rising. “There were no irregularities. As you know, it was a brake failure. Nothing more to say.” “But a car slammed into us or it was a hit and run ... I'm not sure of the exact details but something hit us....”

"I'm threatening you. Do what you're told, or that recording goes public. It's that simple." Peterson stared at Leonard for a long moment. I could see the internal battle playing out on his face. He wanted to fight back, wanted to refuse, but he knew he had no choice. Finally, Peterson took a step back. "Fine," he said through gritted teeth. "You win. For now." "Not for now," Leonard corrected. "Forever. This case is closed. Luan and Klevis walk away clean and that's the end of it." Peterson didn't respond. He just turned and walked away, his footsteps echoing in the quiet police station.
