Cassie felt her heart pounding in her ears. She had to locate Nicholas. Right now. Blonde hair, petite frame, someone who I thought was my best friend. The woman who had stolen my mate from me. "Cassie is no werewolf, she is a witch like us and with the help of your mate Zane she is pregnant and carrying his child automatically both a wolf and a witches blood run through that child." I just sat there in the chair, my whole body numb and cold, my brain unable to wrap its hand around what I was hearing. It couldn't be possible, it just couldn't be possible. It was a complete horror for everybody. In that chaos, Cassie took the chance to grab my gun behind my back and she marched at Carina bravely. I wished to hinder her from doing that, but I just didn't have the energy to stand again on my feet. My shirt underneath the tuxedo got wet and I could smelt the scent of blood on my body. "You're a f*cking monster! I'm going to kill you! I'm going to f*cking kill you today!" I heard Cassie's voice before my eyesight turned completely blurry.

“You are not a monster. Whatever your aunt believes, she's wrong, so fucking wrong.” The certainty in my words surprises even me, but I mean every single one of them. Because I know Cassie isn't fully human, something lives inside of her which we both don't know of yet. And that might have probably saved her when she was fifteen. However, I can't tell her this. I can't explain to her that her survival wasn't luck or chance. That whatever killed her parents likely triggered something that's been sleeping ever since in her. And maybe one of her parents wasn't fully human like her aunt believes.

Damon said. "You are?" I asked, trying to piece it together. If he was a werewolf, then... "Is she a werewolf too?" I asked, referring to Cassie. Damon nodded. "She is our Luna. As I explain, please stay open-minded and refrain from violent reactions. I will share everything I know, but promise me you won’t tell Cassie I said anything." We promised. Damon told us about Cassie’s past. Though it was hard to accept, knowing that we weren’t monsters was a relief. It shook us, but it also gave us room to breathe.

I looked at the body and wondered how the fuck am I going to drink blood without taking of the head from someone or kill them in the process. "Cass?" a voice called from behind me. I turned and saw Casey standing there with scolding look on her face. Casey never got scared of me when I was in this state she only scolds me and tells me to control myself. My vampire side immediately retreats upon hearing her voice I stare at her and she stares back at me lifting a eyebrow waiting for an explanation.
