SKY POV I couldn't shake off the uneasiness. Everyone tried to reassure me that Kayden was actually the best swimmer among all of them, but that didn’t stop the butterflies to dance in my belly when they all leaped into the water and raced to their balloons. It was comic, the way they lapped the water and swam to the middle, all in rhythm; it was seriously something out of the dream. “Here, drink this.” Te’a presented a glass of lemonade, and I thanked her before taking it, and then took a good swig before staring out into the water.

The water is cool and refreshing on my skin when I resurface from the jump I’m met with Atticus splashing me. I splash him back before our playful game is interrupted by Destin jumping into the water doing a Bombie between me and atticus. When he resurfaces he flicks his wet hair at me. The rest of the guys are at the other end of the rock pool and call Destin over for a bombie competition. Destin gives me a knowing look before he swims off.

He was beautiful. I sighed watching from the edge as he slid through the water, the muscles in his arms flexing as he swam, his tattoo almost seeming to swim and move with him. He stopped and chuckled at something Crista said, their interaction causing a jolt of jealousy to run through me. I wasn’t normally a jealous person and Crista was my friend. If they like each other, I’ll have to figure out how to deal. It wouldn’t be pleasant, but it’s happened before.

Landing with a splash, Atticus screamed out loud as the freezing water splashes over him. “Hold on tight Addy”, my teeth chattering as I began to swim across the water. The current swept me sideways, rolling underwater I could feel my hand loosen its grip as it was driven into the rocks, scraping as I went past. Lashing out with my legs I finally managed to make contact with a rock and push myself upwards, my head breaking through the water. Spluttering I took a deep breath, Atticus was coughing as he clung to my neck.

Alpha Jake walked closer to the river and saw the hungry crocodile. He can't use the boat which means that he have to swim inside the water. He care less. He placed his legs inside the water and spread his arms across, he started swimming. One of the crocodile caught his leg and bite him. He groaned but didn't give up, he managed to continue swimming by hitting the crocodile's eye. He swam to the other side of the river and another crocodile caught his left hand. He winched as he feel so much pains, he feel like he should just give up.

My friends are cheering like crazy as I throw my arms sideways for balance, going as fast as I can along the thin zig-zag and jumping off the end. Calista glances sideways at me and smirks, speeding up but I match her pace, keeping right beside her over the next six obstacles. A memory of a dream where I ran this course with Cain comes to mind and somehow it feels like he's running beside me, taunting me and pushing me faster. I focus on the last obstacle, the rope netting and barely even notice the trench of water as I sail over it. Flying up the rope netting, I hear Cain's voice telling me to move my ass and somehow, I do.

So suddenly I stopped swimming and suddenly I panicked. I felt Cayden approach and suddenly he grabbed my hand. He looked into my eyes and he saw my fear. Shit, I'm afraid of sharks! And to my surprise, the shark just passed us by and didn't even pay attention to us. I saw the amusement in his eyes and again I made myself a laughing stock but can you blame me? Of course, we know that sharks are predators, so naturally, I freak out if I see them swimming with me.

She still wasn't talking, but she pointed at the water. I looked down. Something was swimming beneath the boat. Big. Dark. Moving in slow circles. "Everyone stay still," I whispered. Kai froze. Jaden held his breath. Wren pressed against my leg. The shape circled once. Twice. Three times. Then it surfaced. A head. Human-sized. Covered in scales the color of deep ocean. Two eyes, solid black, blinked at me. Then a body rose from the water — not human, not fish, something in between.

Gunner. As we came up to the sand I looked down along the water’s edge, still no people. I ran for the water, prancing over the small waves and diving under the as they got bigger. The blood of the elk washed off with each hit of a new wave. I was swimming in a circle around Cole when he jumped onto my back, playfully pushing me down. I turned my neck and nipped at his hind legs causing him to fall off, splashing into the water. I swam around and hit him in the face with my tail and then slowly made my way back to shore. Walking up onto the sand I shook off the excess water and laid down further up on the dry sand. The sky was blue and cloudless, the sun was getting low but was still warm. C
