Catching Fire Haymitch Quarter Quell Chapter の小説・ストーリー

Small signs. A ribbon tied around the doorknob of the laundry room. A folded scrap of paper tucked under the west stairwell with a single word written on it — Ash. These were not just messages for me. They were reminders that I was not standing alone. ENDING SCENE CATTY’S POV The fire had started as a whisper. Now it was moving through the shadows, gathering strength where no one could see it. And when the council finally noticed, it would be too late.

“Kayla! I’m here! Are you okay?” “I’m fine!” she shouted back. “But I can’t see you! The smoke is too thick!” She tried to stand up, but her legs felt weak. She could feel the heat getting closer and closer, and she knew that if she didn’t find Liam soon, if they didn’t get out of there, they would be trapped. And then, she heard another sound. The sound of more collapsing, more creaking. And then, everything went black. Chapter 151: The Smoke and Mirrors

All she did was strike the match. How it would erupt into a wildfire, what damage it would leave in its wake—none of it interested Haley. A few feet around a curve, a substantial, broad chest halted her short, the contact harsh and unexpected. Crisp, cedar-scented air swirled about her in an instant. Before Haley could gather her wits, Rhett leaned low and hoisted her easily in a fireman's carry. A tiny gasp from her, but recognition softened her stiff shoulders, a weird, serene comfort falling across her chest.

Crushing. A sudden movement in the shadows made me gasp. Something or someone lunged at Marcus. He reacted instantly, deflecting the attacker, but the impact sent crates toppling. Sparks flew. Flames erupted closer to us. “Move!” Elliot shouted, grabbing my hand and pulling me forward. We ran, twisting through the labyrinthine corridors, the heat intensifying, the smoke thickening. Every turn was a test, every shadow a threat, and every heartbeat felt like a countdown. Then, we reached a chamber, larger, circular, with a high ceiling. In the center, a platform surrounded by fire. And on it… her. Standing, calm, smiling.

I slam back into my body like falling through ice. The world rights itself in a single breathless snap. The trees around me are still standing, the sky is the right color again. Aunt Cerelia is kneeling beside me, her hands pressed to my chest, her face drawn and pale. Smoke curls from my fingertips and my shirt is scorched at the collar. The circle is nothing but ash. I suck in a breath and choke on it. Aunt Cerelia cups my face worriedly, “Scarlett. Say something.” I blink and whisper, “It saw me.”

He raised his heavy, three-pronged flame-halberd, the pilot light hissing with lethal intent as his mechanical ocular lens zoomed in on Cattleya”s solitary figure. He did not speak. The First Inquisition swore vows of total silence upon taking the black steel. He simply squeezed the primary trigger valve. A five-foot torrent of pressurized liquid flame erupted from the halberd's tip, aimed straight at Cattleya”s chest. Cattleya didn't dodge backward. She lunged forward, diving beneath the roaring cone of fire.

Chapter 5 - Trouble “Is that the best you got?” I panted as I charged toward Cedric. A loud clinking sounded as our blades hit one another. He let out a grunt as I pushed forward, forcing him to step back. I spun around, ducking and kicking my foot out to trip him. He anticipated my move, jumping back and hitting me with an orb of fire. I hissed as it hit my back. Letting out a curse, as I used water to put out the fire before it could cause any serious injury.

We all stand silently and I try to focus on the warmth Ally sends, and not the pit I’m trying to fall back in. After a moment, I hear Mitchell howl. A long sorrowful sound. He howls again and this time we all join. One long, pitiful howl for our losses, for our pain. And then I lower the flame to the pyre. We watch in silence as the fire consumes everyone and everything. A few wolves whine or cry. I’m too empty to participate anymore, and Ally has let go. So I sink down again and lie my head against the long torch still in my hands.

Chapter 27 The Gathering Storm Quinton’s POV The ash swirled around me, thick and suffocating, as I stood frozen in place, staring at the charred remains of what had once been our safe haven. The cabin was gone, reduced to rubble and smoldering debris. But none of that mattered. Not the destruction, not the fire that had ripped through the woods. All I could think of was Fiona. My chest tightened with a panic I couldn’t control. She was nowhere to be found.

What if it was true and not just some wild thought “Then I’ll pick you up jeez, you won’t even waste your car’s fuel” Rumors have it that if your blood is mutated, you get killed at night and your body is never found. I jumped up in fright after reading that, what if I’m mutated and I get killed “I’m having none of this” I whispered “Dude really?” I heard Sebastian grumble. I then remembered that I was speaking to someone on the phone “Uhm, you were saying?” I asked in an apologetic tone
