Not His Destiny
My body is hot and sweaty, my breath coming fast.
“I love you so much.”
“Then why?” I whirl around, screaming at him, tears streaking down my face.
“It’s the pull,” he finally admits, his voice rough. “It messes with my head.”
He steps closer, eyes wild, and a little frantic. “I didn’t know it would feel like that. That I’d want her that much. But it isn’t what you think, Cici.”
“No.” My anger crumbles into pure pain. “No, Dante. No. We shouldn’t have started this. I shouldn’t have come to your pack lands. I shouldn’t have tried to force myself into a place I don’t belong.”
