I said nothing. "Marry you?" I repeated, my voice a low, dangerous purr as I gently but firmly detached her fingers from my suit. I took a step back, studying her like a general assessing a sudden change on the battlefield. "You are three days away from walking down the aisle with Damien Ravenscar. A man you have publicly doted on for a year. Now you are offering your hand to his greatest rival?" "Damien is a fraud," Katniss snapped, her fists clenching at her sides, her breathing ragged with a deep-seated fury that didn't match the timeline of a simple lover's quarrel. He opened the shower, making the both of them wet with the running water as he grabbed Catherine's left leg and hooked it in his right forearm.

I didn’t know which of them was my real fated mate. Suddenly, the door slammed open. Cassandra stood there with two of her wolves behind her. Her eyes were full of hate. “I knew you were hiding a secret,” she snarled, hissing repeatedly. “You and your evil secrets.” Scarlett stepped in front of me, frowning at Cassandra. “Leave my daughter alone, you devilish woman!” Cassandra laughed and flew fast toward my mom, her claws hitting straight on my mother’s arm. “I want to make sure she dies. She is the devil here!”

Balric and Cass walked towards the center of the yard and started warming up. Dannie couldn’t help but watch them for a moment. Balric, despite his size, moved with quick grace. There was something primally attractive about him. She couldn’t put her finger on exactly what it was, but it pushed all her buttons. Cass, Dannie had no doubts, could pull men in just as easily. Beautiful, quick, and strong, Cass was like poetry in motion. The two looked good together.

Kat gave me a tight smile. “Anything to thwart Cornelius,” she said. I frowned a little. Every time she spoke of Cornelius, she sounded bitter. “Did he do something to you?” I asked, curiously. Kat didn’t answer immediately, then she sighed. “Yeah. He tortured me and had my mate killed.” I gasped. “I am so sorry. I had no idea,” I said. Kat shrugged.

He doesn't want to be indebted to Lena. I wonder briefly if his parents were cousins, he's so goddamn fucking slow. "Tom knew about Lena. Did you know? But he underestimated her. Like you did. Like I did. Fuck. So she slaughtered everyone in the warehouse before you finally arrived and saved the fucking day. If she hadn't, you'd be dead too." Arturo takes a breath as he drops his chin to his chest. "What the fuck do you want me to do. Send her a thank you card?"

James I immediately turned my head, staring at Renata. I didn’t expect her to say something like that. But there she was, completely unbothered, even proud of herself. Her eyes locked on Katniss with a challenging glare, a wicked smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. Katniss, who had been trying to remain calm, couldn’t hide the surge of emotion that flared within her. Her eyes narrowed, sharp as daggers, as she stared Renata down, clutching Giselle tightly in her arms.
