Celeste answered as she covered her face with her arm. Iowa nodded and ran to Isuzu as the wind got stronger. Celeste, alone, then took out a piece of paper from her pocket, the one Isuzu received as she unfolded it to see the number XII on it glowing a bright light. She looked up the sky to see, from a distance the nearest star pillar to see it glow brighter than usual. Celeste sighed and folded the letter back and ran to Iowa who was looking for Isuzu. Meanwhile, Isuzu walked over to their usual starting position and felt something weird going on as she started to feel whispers in her head, and as the wind got to her too, she took cover on a nearby log and closed her eyes.

I felt a sting coming from his hand, which reached my mind. 'You mustn't forget; I only gave you a month to break Sarina's curse. If this membership of yours would ruin the plan, I will no longer think twice about transporting myself over to the real world using your identity,' said Celeste, who regained her consciousness soon after Lucas touched me. Maybe I would've been more fortunate if I had been born and raised here instead. I wouldn't have to worry about anyone else outside of this realm.

Mad to the point I felt like tearing someone's head off. My anger surged and I felt nothing but heated rushing all over my bone, Soon there was pain and I was screaming out in dire need of a release. "She's shifting for the first time." I could hear the Selene say. I fell to the ground screaming in exhilarating and unbearable pain. That's when I felt my bones cracking, heat pooling and within seconds could feel my body somehow shifting. Once I had felt the pain subsiding I got up hearing Selene gasped while standing next to me.

Cassandra, with her eyes full of smugness despite her poor state. Celeste’s face twisted in fury. "SHUT UP!" she screamed, lunging forward. Her hands wrapped around Cassandra’s throat. Cassandra's world went dark almost immediately. The sound of raging water jolted her awake. She was in a wheelchair, on the edge of a cliff, a waterfall roaring below. Behind her, Celeste stood, hands gripping the handles. "He's crazy about you, right?" she whispered in her ear. "Well… his kind of love is killing you. So let me help set you free."

CELESTE I woke up with an aching head and I felt weak. My body is weak. I roamed around my eyes but I didn’t see Elias in my room. No one is inside but I can sense that there are guards outside of my chamber I tried to get up but my body is weak and I couldn’t move. I caressed my womb and I still could feel my little bean on it. I tried to pull myself up but I really can’t. ‘Elias. . . .’ I called him.

Her face brightened like sunlight breaking through. "You're awake. Benjamin's waiting for you to see him off." I lost it again. The tears would not stop flowing. His passing hit me like a storm. "His death is like a rain that turns into a hurricane every time I think of him," I said, trying to make sense of the emptiness. "What about Celeste and Vincent?" I asked. "Celeste jumped into the pit that day and broke a leg. Oddly, it's what let her recover Benjamin's arm. I had her locked in a room after that. She hasn't said a word since. She's waiting for you to wake up."

For not seeing the way Celeste was being broken under my name. I turned on my heel. “Darrow.” He straightened. “Don’t let him leave. I don’t care what it takes.” Darrow gave a sharp nod. “Consider it done.” Halbridge let out a desperate, garbled sound behind me, but I didn’t even glance back. I had to see Celeste right away. ***** Celeste’s POV The morning light slanted through the blinds, warm against my face. I stirred slightly, still sore but no longer drowning in the fog of medications. My body felt less like a battlefield. More like… something that could still be mine.

The phantom sensations returned - the feeling of my child moving in my belly, the warmth of my wolf's presence in my soul. But I knew it was just wishful thinking. They were gone forever. Both my child and my wolf, murdered by the woman Marcus just carried away like a precious treasure. I cannot get past this. The realization hit me like a physical blow. Marcus, goodbye. Never again will I see you. --- Hours later, under the moonlight streaming through the bedroom window, Celeste looked completely satisfied in Marcus's arms. Her earlier wound was perfectly healed, not even a scar remaining. Convenient how quickly she recovered when she wanted to.

Even then, how could I explain this unusual phenomenon? “Strip!” She jerked her head upwards, her gaze pleading for mercy, but she didn’t dare utter a single word. Celeste carried out the order without the slightest hesitation. However, her hands trembled everywhere she touched. I could visibly see her body trembling. Suddenly, my heart began to miss so many beats that I feared I might breathe my last at any moment. Just like the day before. “You’re scared?” I shouldn’t have asked that. “Yes, Alpha.” She was scared that I was about to take her ruthlessly, hurting her as I did the first few times when I took her.

In the meantime, I hoped Henry never had a reason to appear in front of me again. Planning a hostile takeover on my company was pure psychopathy, and I wasn't about to let him off the hook. He'll pay when I'm ready. I was still thinking of a perfect way to set traps for him when a movement pulled me out of it. Celeste…rising, gathering her things. “If I need anything, I’ll call.” She was already heading for the door. “But—” “I already texted my driver. Thanks for paying.” And she was gone. I stared at where she sat for a moment, let it sink in that she just walked out on dinner with me— and I burst into a disbelieving laugh.
