I stopped looking for logical explanations—for ghosts, for doppelgängers, for some elaborate gaslighting scheme. The "why" didn't matter. The only reality that existed was the cycle: the living room, the shovel, the woods, and the return. Now, standing here, looking at the seventh iteration of her, the horror is no longer about her return. It is about the realization that has been gnawing at the back of my mind since the fourth burial.

Again. It... it had carvings on it. They were like symbols or something she couldn't just decipher. It looked really old. Like an ancient black coffin. The strange thing about this coffin was it held such magnetic and powerful aura that anyone could not just miss. And the colour... it was just like that miasma hovering behind her earlier. Speaking of the miasma, where was it now? Had it... Was this what it wanted her to reach? The aura coming from the coffin brought her back from her thoughts. It was... it was calling out to her? She could hear faint sounds of mumbled words. No, this can't be words. It sounds like an ancient language or so she thought.

Everything became a bur. Junto was flung aside by one of the beast's pale hands. Then it dove after the Shape Shifter with jaws the size of a bear trap.

“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” “I have never been this ready.” We drive for a while. All I can see are pine trees sideways and some wild animals. I guess she was buried in some secluded place on purpose so people won’t come near her grave and just let her rest. We stopped in front of a cemetery. The place looks old and haunted. I mean it. The statues are half-broken, some don’t have hands and some lose their head. I could feel some sort of tightness in my chest. I just hope my panic attacks don’t relapse the moment I see her. We then get out of the car to walk to her grave.

Just in case the thing in the tunnel came after them, it couldn’t step one foot onto the hallowed ground of the graveyard. They still had three blocks to walk past more of the same dirty little broken-down houses, but they’d be there soon. As they approached the last block, they noticed a gray, dirty house with missing siding and only dirt for a lawn with an old couch sitting in the middle behind a rusted chain-link fence. There was one light on inside and the sound of a radio playing old music from the 1950s.

I apologize that this book is really short with less than 30k words in all. I plan to edit it at some point and make it better. I figured that a really long Horror book might be less interesting and would just seem drawn out. I've not read a lot of them but I watch horror movies so I wrote this like I would picture an Horror movie. I appreciate all those who stuck with me and read Reincarnation regardless. Thank you all. The other true blood vampires gave me dirty looks as we passed them by, their fear and hatred of me palpable in the air. Mane stood by my side with an evil smirk on his face, relishing in the discomfort of the situation.
