Chapter 3 The Hunger Games Novels & Stories

An added danger, an uncertainty, for it was officially the start of the third trial of the Alpha Games. A buzz carried over her skin as she got to her feet and peered around. The scenery was much the same no matter where she looked, but there was one small difference to her left. Michael was sat on a tree stump, his eyes on her as she surveyed the surroundings. Before she could say anything to him her stomach growled. She hadn’t eaten since lunch the day before and was quick to dig into her supplies and grab two cans of beans. When she handed one to him, he hesitated and brushed the remaining smudge of mud from her cheek, a small smile on his lips. Maddie blinked. There was still sleep still

This wasn't an exit, it was an entrance, a step into a territory uncharted, a world where the only rule was the hunger he ignited within me. We arrived at a room bathed in the golden glow of a crackling fire, the air alive with the dance of flames. A table laden with food, rich and earthy, awaited us. It was a scene both domestic and unsettling, a feast fit for both lovers and predators. And as I met his gaze, a flicker of something more than hunger ignited in his eyes, I knew this wasn't the end, but the beginning. The game had changed, and the stakes were far higher than a simple breakfast. "Okay, you can let me down now." when he didn't react I forced myself to say, "Please."

The first chapter sets the tone: Tshepo’s secret gambling problem begins to intertwine with family tensions, creating ripples that will affect everyone. Chapter 1 – Tshepo’s Gamble (Expanded) Tshepo sat at the edge of the small table in his apartment, the weight of another week’s losses pressing down on him. The cards lay scattered, remnants of the late-night gambling sessions he’d promised himself would end “just this once.” The numbers on the receipt from the betting shop seemed to mock him: debts he couldn’t ignore, lies he couldn’t untangle, and a future that felt increasingly unstable.

Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be as the screams get louder before another long whistle blows making me think they got hurt, or worse. Just then another horn sounds off. This one lower and almost baritone, like a foghorn. Then the sound of rocks shifting could be heard, like an earthquake as the walls begin to move on their own. Some lifting while others shifting into weird angles. Kinda like the hunger games, and the weird terrane that tries to kill you as I'm forced into a different passage before it could crush me. What in the world? Moving walls? Are we suddenly in Panem? "For crying out loud” I yell more to myself than to anyone else, realizing this game wouldn’t be considered fair. As this

Why did I only understand how I felt after I'd already lost her forever? *** Epilogue II Third-Person POV After Yara died, Shawn went after Johan's company. When two heavyweights went to war, everybody took a hit. Their friends set up a dinner to force a truce. Johan and Shawn showed up as a favor, but both looked ready to tear into each other. Johan was a wreck. Shawn had lost so much weight that his eyes looked huge in his gaunt face. "Don't think I'll ever forgive you." "Give me Blackie, and I'll help you finish this," Johan said.

Alex was the first to say, "the girl is mine. She is my mate and I've already claimed her." "Wrong" Evans replied, "she is my mate and neither of you stands a chance against me." Matt yelled, "fuck off you two. No one is going to keep me away from my mate." I couldn't understand what was going on. Were they about to fight over me, the supposed monster who had just gotten dumped? What did they all mean by 'I was their mate'? And why the fuck will the three most wealthy and sought-after bachelors want to be with a nobody like me?

She let out. “Who knew there was something called the valedictorian?” Ashley had pulled closer to me, eyes shifting off the screen onto my figure. “What about our husbands?” Another voice followed. “What gets them going?” The speaker questioned. “This” And then came another slideshow, with the image of two figures popping up. “Men love the doggy” “If that doesn’t work on them, I believe the cowgirl would” “And while you take your territory on his body, I need you ladies to ride like your life depended on it”

Melanie's eyes flashed with anger, and suddenly she clutched her stomach while exclaiming, "My stomach... Is the baby coming?!" Henry's face twisted in sudden panic, and he swept Melanie into his arms, bolting for the door. As he rushed by, Melanie's hand shot out, gripping my arm with a fierce tug. I stumbled, crashing to the ground as Wren's gasp echoed in my ears. Pain washed over me, turning my face ghostly pale. Wren, shaking, lifted me up, her voice breaking as she called for a doctor. Through the blur, I caught Henry hesitating for a split second, but then, he was gone, not once looking back.

Unfortunately, our mother saw through our plan and with one spell she closed and strengthened all the doors and windows in the house, cutting off any escape route. Fortunately, I finally managed to break through this protection and we got outside, into the garden, and then into the forest, but my mother caught up with us and trapped all three under an energy dome that seemed to be quite weak, so there was a chance to pass it, but only Oliver would probably survive going through. ~~~~~~~~~

The First Heir lunged violently. Silver power exploded from her body. “STOP TALKING!” The Hunger blocked the attack effortlessly. Darkness swallowed the silver light whole. My breath caught. Impossible. Flash The First Heir kneeling alone in darkness. Starving. Crying. Broken. Then the Hunger whispering softly: “Let me carry the pain.” Silver light dimming. Silence. Present I froze. No. The Hunger looked at me carefully. “She understands.” The First Heir looked horrified. “Don’t listen to it!”
