She responds with righteous indignation and silences them with her rebuttal. It’s supposed to be a powerful moment, right?" she asked.

The whispers started again and my focus reverted back to it. I had only been a few hours in and this book had taught me spells I never knew existed in my life. The baffling things were it felt like this book was made for me, an extension to my life. I had also found the ritual process and ingredients for the Alpha’s curse. It could have made me happy but there was a major problem. I was still engulfed in my thoughts when I suddenly saw Alpha Hansel standing before my table. I settled down, brushing the leaves and pine needles off the bench, then opened the book on my lap and continued to read where I had left off last night.
