Cold glints bounced off their surface, making for a terrifying entrance, but little else happened, as Phantomknife never got to hit Javier with them. He felt a sharp pinch on his wrist and saw Javier’s silhouette get blurry. The next time his eyes focused, his shiny blades had changed hands. Javier was the one aiming the pointy bits at him now.

Boro and Mika stood in the sand circle as the two finalists. The animosity between the two was so thick in the air it was almost palpable. Boro stood in the ready form, Crane In The Water, standing perfectly balanced on one leg, his sword held out before him. Mika stood in a form that Boro didn't recognize. Then I grabbed my sheath for my waist and inserted my seven inch parkerized blade. “Holy Moon Goddess! You look like you are going to war.” Rory squealed. I laughed at her energy. I look over at Aiden who is looking at me with some emotion I cannot name. The last thing I grab is my Kukri Machete. It’s eight inches long and completely black. There is only a thin silver lining along the edge. It’s great for combat, but I am going to slice through some of the targets. “Okay, I’m ready.”

Shouted Lila as she and her mother, Luna Davene, came running from the pack house, both carrying their weapons of choice. Lila carried multiple throwing knives attached all over her body by harnesses strapped to her, each one coated in silver and dipped in wolfsbane so even the smallest cut could be deadly if left untreated. She had told me once she even had knives in her boots that would flick out with the right pressure in the right spot, and a couple wolfsbane coated pins in her hair, just in case.

Carl shouted coldly as thin knives flew and were formed from the twisted air. The knives were as thin as butterfly wings and were formed from internal energy. There were 10,000 of them! “Luca, your competition ends here!” Carl said with an icy-cold voice. He raised his hand and pointed at Darryl. In an instant, all the knives turned into a meteor shower, charging towards Darryl as it sliced through the air. Seeing that, everyone could not help but take a cold breath. They were worried for Luca! Carl was really powerful and definitely a Martial Emperor.

I pulled out my custom-made blade gleamed with a savage hunger under the bright arena lights. The polished steel bore the name "Capone," etched into the metal like a proclamation of death. The handle, wrapped in black leather, felt like a coiled snake in my grip, ready to strike with deadly accuracy.
