Jos and Kate stood were I had left them, now joined by an awkward Joseph.
“Useless. She didn’t even take a sip of water. Seriously, is she that love sick?” I asked, looking up at Charlie’s face who only chuckled in response before he said, “Maybe. Will you be the same if I ever took a day off?”
I didn’t even need to think about it twice because I already knew the answer.
“For your information, Charlie Wise, you are almost every day taking a day off with this and that excuses. So it’s nothing new to me.” I snapped, but Charlie just laughed, kissing my forehead in the process. It felt really nice.
