Shit. Shit. Shit. Chris could hear his heart hammering in his ears as he sat still, his hands cuffed together. Detective Klein stood across the room, quietly speaking into his walkie, relaxed and unaware of the storm building up inside Chris. Rhodes had stepped out for a bathroom break. That left Chris alone with the detective—and one shot. Klein looked like he could hold his own. Broad shoulders, lean build, dressed in a tailored suit that hinted at a gym habit. But even the strongest man could be taken down if he didn’t see it coming.

Too bad they never imagined I had already gotten rid of it. My phone suddenly buzzed with a message. I glanced down and smiled bitterly. Mom and Dad thought it was a concerned message from Byron, and they exchanged guilty glances. Unfortunately, they were only half right. It was indeed from Byron, but the message read, "Something came up at work. I won't be home tonight." Right after that, Claire sent me a video. Byron was in the hospital, head bowed as he peeled an orange for her, his gaze tender. The caption read, "I'm the one Byron loves. An ugly duckling is forever an ugly duckling. Cupid crosses his arms over his chest. "Hunter?" I look down, seeing the small person known as Charlie. "I know you're big and scary. But-but," He stutters, he's very young, he's only around 3 to 4 years old. He can barely string sentences together. "Could you maybe let Levi talk?" He looks up at me with his big, sparkling, innocent blue eyes. He barely knew how the system works. It is impossible to say no to him.

Deedah had blocked Mario's number on her phone and all her social media accounts. Charlie shakes her head, "Mario isn't worth it." She sighs and walks to the living room. Now that Charlie looks closely, the man doesn't look anything like an assassin. He looks, more or less, like a panda bear. A panda bear hunched slightly with Charlie's throw blanket over his shoulder and his taut fingers gripping the mug tightly as he takes occasional sips from its content. "I don't know if this is wise..." Charlie chuckles nervously, "...but you can sleep here tonight. I don't know if you're lost or anything but... Yeah. You can take the couch, okay?"

Charlie stopped the driver when he got to the mall with the name ‘Voldov’ boldly written on it, the same mall he met Damiel. While trying to enter into the mall, one of the security team at the entrance asked for his club identification card, apparently only few people are granted entrance to this mall. Charlie was starting to feel fear creep into him because he is not to head back home without a deal well done from Damiel Voldov or else he gets to know the reality of consummation from his stepbrothers as his father promised which he knows can be done. Charlie peed his pants and stammered, “D-don’t come near me!” As he staggered backward, he continued to threaten Andrius, “I am a Miller from the capital. If you touch me, you will be making an enemy out of the Millers! My father and my grandfather won’t forgive you!” Andrius did not care. He grabbed Charlie by the neck and headed to the toilet.

Charlie says, not long after I hear a door opening before the boot gets opens, the light blinding me for a second. "Well I can tick being kidnapped and placed in a boot off the list," I say, sitting up but see barrels of smoke fill the sky behind Charlie "that's the explosion I heard, what happened?" I ask, looking up at Charlie who gets a knife cutting the duck tapes from my hands and feet.

Charlie put away his cynical smile before he stared right into Kenneth’s eyes and said word by word, “In Aurous Hill, even if you are a tiger, you will have to lie down before me. Even if you are a dragon, you will have to lower your head for me. Because I, Charlie Wade, am the one and only real dragon in Aurous Hill!” Kenneth was taken aback by Charlie’s sharp gaze, and he had to force himself to calm down before he recovered his senses. Then, he sneered, “Wendy is right! You are nothing but a piece of trash who likes to brag! Do you truly think that someone like you could actually be a dragon? You are really making me sick! In my eyes, you are nothing but a worm!”

Then I would leave, permanently. “So what happens now?” I had to ask. Charlie leaned back on the couch and grinned like this was the beginning of a fun little rom-com. He was charming, I had to give him that. With his golden blond hair, dimples, and soft warm eyes, he looked like he’d walked out of a Disney movie –like a Prince Charming. He was the exact opposite of Maverick Russo, who gave off the energy of a fallen angel –beautiful, yes, but dangerous in all the wrong ways. I couldn’t help but wonder how the two of them even became friends in the first place.
