Now, I need you to take this tray of smoked salmon canapés to Charlotte and her friends. They’re in the pavilion.” Mary Lou takes the tray from Fay, balancing it carefully. Yes, the smoked salmon canapés look delectable, each bite-sized piece artfully arranged with a sprig of dill and a dollop of crème fraîche but Mary Lou cannot imagine that anyone eats any of these meals for the satisfaction of fullness.

She then bends down to retrieve her pile of books from the ground and stands up. "My name is Charlotte" I tell her and extend my hand forward as a kind gesture. She looks at me from top to bottom. I know that my gesture has taken her by surprise and she continues to look nervous. I look at her and to my surprise, she takes my hand and shakes it with a sweet smile. "Hi, my name is Adele, nice to meet you Charlotte" she says with a smile. "Are you a newcomer too?" she continues. "Yes, are you?" I ask her returning her smile.

“We deal in food business and winery, but trust me, I have enough money to finance your company. Please don’t hesitate to ask anything from me.” Charlotte smiled inwardly at his puny offer. “Like I have only one branch in America.” She brought out that smile and adorned it on her face. Allen’s eyes sparkled in admiration. “Your smile is deadly. Did anyone tell you that you are an enchantress?” His lust-filled gaze observed Charlotte’s figure hungrily, she was looking gorgeous in a pink sleeveless evening gown. Sensing his interest, Charlotte trailed her fingers on his neck and readjusted the spaghetti strips on her shoulders.

I turn to go back inside and as I enter the restaurant, I can see Charlotte is angered and has a knife. I decide to watch her actions as Julia seemed completely calm and in control of the situation.
