I reply with a laugh. Xander is my cousin and just a few months younger than Skye and I. Skye is also a cousin and my best friend. We live in a small town in Oregon and are attending our senior year in high school. I’ve lived here my whole life and I have always dreamed of traveling. I want to see more in this life. I don’t want to just find my mate and get married. Skye and I finish up our make up and head down stairs. We find Xander pacing back and forth. He has always been the impatient one.

She winks, then heads back to the common room, leaving Skye alone again. Skye shuts the door and grabs her phone, her fingers hovering over the screen. She opens her messages and types out a quick text to Knox. “Hey” She hits send, her heart melting in anticipation as she stares at the screen, waiting for a reply but none came. She bites her lip, then types again. “I really liked the kiss.” She adds a blushing emoji, then hesitates before hitting send.

“I have no idea what you are referring to.” Nova opened his mouth for the third time, but Skye raised her hand. “See no evil, hear no evil,” she said dramatically. “In fact, I did not see anything. I was not even here. I just walked in and I am already walking back out the same way I came in.” She started moving backwards slowly toward the door, still talking. “I will be outside waiting for Brad. We have a lot to do and I will be spending the night at his place. You two have fun. Be safe. Use protection. Lock the door. Bye!”

Blake replied almost immediately. Audrey frowned and sat down beside Blake. "And about your crush, Ixora, have you kissed her yet?" Skye grinned. "Bro, come on," Blake smiled in return. "Look at that, you're even blushing," Skye poked his shoulder. "Don't you have a shoot you should prepare for?" Blake asked. Skye was a model and had been his best friend for ages. "The shoot is in three days, I'll be more than ready by then," he shrugged his shoulders.

But maybe it wouldn't be as easy as I imagined it would be to come here with a date I was attempting to disguise. Fortunately, after I was inside, they moved me to a location where I would be less obvious to others. I sat down and waited, running my fingers down the tablecloth's edge while I pondered the justification Skye had given her father for coming to see me. While the front door opened, I looked up as the background noise of talking and clinking plates resonated through my thoughts. Skye was standing there, looking extremely lovely in a short, sparkly red dress, shoes, and hair that fell about her shoulders. I raised my hand and rose up, approaching her at her seat to give her a cheek

I clenched my fists, my wolf stirring inside me. I turned back to Skye, "It seems we have to postpone our conversation, there's something that requires my immediate attention." Her gaze flickered with concern as she looked at me, "What's happening?" I shrugged, "Trouble, most likely." I didn't want to tell her it was Jayleen. Not yet, not until I was sure of her loyalty. She nodded, her brows furrowed. As I turned to leave, I felt a strange sensation. I looked back to see Skye staring at the painting. She was more than her mother's daughter; she was a witch and she had powers. Powers that could help us.

At least one good thing would come out of this evening, I would get through the night with the thought of undoing every last button of his with my teeth and making his body blaze with want when we got home. My carnal thoughts are shattered by a sharp finger snap. “Keep your mind blocked if all you’re going to do is tempt me with wicked promises that I’ll have to wait for,” Chase growled before taking my hand. “C’mon let's get this over with so I can find out how your lips taste with that fucking siren colour painted on them.” **

(Elina’s POV) If Cassie had her way, my life would be a constant parade of dresses, heels, and overpriced cocktails. And apparently, today… she does have her way. She bursts into my room holding up a black dress like she’s discovered the cure for depression. “Put this on.” I blinked at her from my bed. “Why?” She grinned like a fox. “Because, darling, we’re going out. Rooftop restaurant, skyline views, the kind of lighting that makes your skin look like glass. And....” she pauses for dramatic effect, “...you never know who you might run into.”

Chapter 15. ***** Sky had never felt such strong emotions before, his body was on fire. Stefan had captured him with just a single glance his way, Sky found himself begging for more from the older boy. He was ready to do Stefan's bidding for the rest of his life. Sky watched Stefan bolt for the door and he knew just what to do. He ran after him.

“Thea wants you, and I know that your wolf wants her as well.” “We want both of you," Xander replied, stopping her from saying whatever she wanted to say. “I am willing to wait for you, as long as you are here with me, no matter how long it will take.” Chassy nodded and smiled. At that moment, they knew that they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The love that Chassy had started to feel for Xander and his love for her would be the anchor that steadied them amidst the storm. As they sat hand in hand, under the embrace of the moonlit night, they felt a sense of unity, a promise of a brighter future, and a love that would endure the test of time.
