An encrypted distress signal was sent. Three nights later, Sophia stood on the edge of a cliff. The wind howled, whipping her dress around her. Hurried footsteps came from behind. Alexander had arrived with his men. "Princess!" he yelled, rushing toward her. "Come with me!" Sophia glanced back at the guards chasing them and suddenly smiled. "Alexander, are you afraid of heights?" Before he could react, Sophia grabbed his hand and jumped off the cliff. Below were raging waves, but on the cliff face were footholds she had scouted out days ago. The guards didn't dare to follow.
