I wouldn't let that happen now. My whole body morphed into my vampire self. My eyes turned into a bright glowing red colour. My canines sharpened and my nails grew longer. I whipped my head towards Maya one last time to make sure she was safe before bolting down with the sole purpose to attack that damn creature. In the middle of the way I see that I won't be able to and I lean my body forward to at least manage to grab the end of the other moro. The tall one stood to her right, silent but alert, eyes locked on me like a predator sizing up prey. This time, none of them smiled. “You came back,” the woman said.

"You're still half v–" I cut him off as I shook my head. "I prefer the human stuff. It tastes better anyway, and I'm… I'm sort of a vegan vampire." "A vegan vampire?" Sol huffed as he repeated my words. "Is that a real thing?" I could hear the teasing lilt in his voice. I only rolled my eyes, thankful that the atmosphere had changed from the previous tense one to a calmer one. Otherwise, I would have worried that I'd be sucked by him without having a last dinner.

After a few minutes more the candle lights came on again while the owls returned. I waited to watch in alert and zero seconds. The new vampires stood up in their immortal forms, all in a separate species from the other. They were all physically different. The first one looked very similar to the joker, only this one had fangs, longer nails, a deadly face that made him look like an angry bat, short, red-skinned, and a very huge head. I quickly recognized that one to be the night prowler. He was of the Yara-ma-yha-who breed. An ancient breed common in Japan.
