Broken Vows, Rising Flames
I studied her face, waiting for her to close her eyes and just go back to sleep, but instead, a warm smile crossed her lips and I shook my head and sighed quietly.
“Look at this,” she said softly, pointing at it, her voice filled with admiration.
I followed her stare to the dresser. It was a picture of her and Prince. He was wearing a rabbit costume with floppy ears and a little bow tie, and she was standing beside him, both of them smiling beautifully.
“Prince’s school play,” she chuckled, her eyes glued to the frame. “He was so adorable in that costume. I sewed the ears myself.”
