I do the most reasonable thing I can think of in that moment. “I, Zane, reject you as my lycan!” I shout, forcing the words out like a blade. Kingston freezes mid-slam. For a heartbeat everything goes quiet….too quiet. His body shudders, muscles bunching, golden eyes wavering. He snarls, but it’s different now, like a wounded animal unsure where to bite.

He'd been in our pack for two days now, and it was easy to say that I had been avoiding him. I kept waiting for him to make a big scene and accuse my parents for their deceit or reject me and order for Dahlia to be made his, but he didn't. My head hung between my legs as my fears threatened to kill me. “Are you alright?” Dahlia asked as she rubbed slow circles around my back.

Tonight, they will hunt. “Aren’t you coming with them, my king? It would be very nice if you’re the one to lead them.” – Harper said as she and Damon stood at the common room’s back balcony, seeing the men and a few women gather to discuss their plan and route. “Nope. They’ll understand. Antonio’s with them anyway. He can lead them just as I can.” Harper nodded, thinking what could be the reason he chose not to join the hunt. As what she heard, the Lycan king’s favorite thing to do was to hunt. Now he said no. Why?

Another replied and I groaned but still closed my eyes there. “Are you nut? Can’t you see he is about to die? He can’t even open his eyes well anymore. Are we going to watch him die like this?” One of them said again and my heart leaped. “You are the one who’s lost his mind. Have you forgotten that he is a Lycan king and a very strong one at that? How will he die just because he is thirsty? Beings like him can go for years without taking anything and they will still be okay!” One of them finally raised his voice as he scolded the last one who spoke.

Bob spoke too and paused. Bill took it from there. "We will go astray," Bill spoke and paused too. Raphael took it again. "At this point, we the council of elders want to present to you all your new ruler, king Lucian Marius. His wife, queen and Alpha female Alexia." The king and queen stepped forward, waving and smiling at the Lycans. The elders went to their place, behind the king and queen. The Lycans kept cheering on and on until Lucian raised his hand up, an action that meant that they can stop cheering, and they did.

Chapter One Hundred and Fifty Four Alexander’s POV Lycan King Alexander stood tall upon a rocky cliff, his fierce gaze sweeping across the vast expanse of his kingdom. The moonlight cascaded over his ebony fur, casting an ethereal glow on his regal figure. His golden eyes, sharp and determined, conveyed the weight of his responsibilities as the ruler of the Lycan pack. "Men," he bellowed, his voice echoing through the night. "We embark on a mission of utmost importance tonight. Zara's parents have vanished under mysterious circumstances when we conquered their pack. It is our duty to find them and bring them home safely."

Damon said. “What? Are you sure about this, Damon? But I want to talk to him. I tried to tell him something.” “Leah, you don't need to. Uncle Hector didn't let him go out to pack. He needed fo to choose whether you or the throne. If he wanted the throne so badly, he needed to marry Anaya. That's the Lycan's condition.” Leah's heart was slowly stabbed with dozens of knives. She couldn't even appropriately breathe. Slowly, the tears she was trying to stop flowed down her cheeks. She closed her eyes when she remembered what Richelle had told her. She said that Amoux would be the Lycan King, which meant that Amoux accepted Anaya to become his Luna.

Reiner's tears continued to fall, each droplet a testament to the depth of their connection, the pain of impending separation becoming almost unbearable. With great effort, Zeke continued, his voice growing softer but filled with conviction. "Reiner, I want Azure to take my place as the next Lycan King.
