As soon as Chris turned his attention towards Xavier he let out a small chuckle. "What's with the look." Xavier raised his eyebrow. "She said she loves you." Chris rolled his eyes. "So?" Alexa sniffed the air around her in satisfaction, she took a seat on a wooden chair opposite Chris, a never ending grin graced her face as she stared down at the bowl of instant noodles Chris made for her.. I was finally out of his lair and I didn't think that there was anything that would take me back there. “What happened? It looks like you saw a ghost or something.” Chris laughed. He was the main chef of the Donovan house and a very good friend of mine. I chuckled, knowing that what he said was just the accurate description of how I was looking at that moment. “Not a ghost, Christ, just introduced to Emma’s sons.” “Oh, I see you’ve met the famous boys,” he smiled. Chris nodded at a few of the staff members as he headed to the kitchen. He was pretty well-known at Jenny’s now, and he found he kind of liked that. The people here made a change from ex-Rangers and bikers; God knows his life was populated with plenty of them, and that was cool. But spending time with wait staff who knew every type of wine under the sun, and pastry chefs who could prepare delicate desserts from scratch, was an education in itself.

He's also the head chef.” “Oh…” I have more questions but I don't get to ask them because Xavier stands and comes around the table, grabbing my plate from the table. “Now this,” Xavier says, gesturing to the first dish, “is truffle butter filet mignon.”

Xavier, who came up with Chris, heard the noises too. Both stood outside the door and looked at each other in dismay. Xavier looked at Chris. “Chris, what’s wrong with dad? Why is he so angry?” Chris shook his head and remained silent with a tense face. Then, when he saw Xavier come alone, he asked, “Where’s your woman?” Xavier chuckled. “She isn’t feeling well, so she went to the restroom.” Chris nodded. Had she found out about me telling Chris the truth and this was all a trap; a way to blow us and all her enemies up? Yeah, I know. I needed to calm down.
