Church Bells Lyrics Novels & Stories

I was already up on my feet crossing the distance between us on the raised hardwood patio. Instinctively placing my hand on her wrist, I muttered, "Claire—" Then before I could utter the words 'I'm sorry' for saying something I shouldn't have, the gonging sound of bells reverberated in the air and everyone stood up. I heard the same bells echo in my nightmares every single night, enough to know what that meant. "There's a fire", I muttered, my jaw ticking as I looked at nowhere in particular. xXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXx

The bells rang at midnight. Not the sharp, urgent peal of alarms, nor the celebratory chime used for festivals—but the slow, measured toll reserved for declarations. One strike for each district. One strike for each voice counted. Garden Metro went silent as the final bell echoed across stone and steel.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want..." We echo her, a chorus of devotion. But my mind drifts again, to the rumors. A boxer. Women in confessions. I close my eyes tighter, forcing the words out. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures... The door at the back of the chapel creaks open mid-prayer. A hush falls, deeper than silence. Footsteps, measured and firm, echo off the stone floors. I don't turn propriety demands into focus but the air shifts, charged like before a storm.

Before she could ask more, the broken pieces of the Last Bell rose into the air. One by one. Slowly. As though invisible hands were lifting them. Every fragment began glowing with red symbols. Elara's face lost all color. "It cannot be." "What?" She looked at Evelyn. "The Last Bell does not ring to announce disaster." Her voice shook. "It rings to call judgment." The fragments formed a circle above their heads. Then every piece rang at once. The sound was so powerful that the entire underground kingdom went silent. The Warden stopped moving. The Gatewalker froze.

, plugged in headphones to listen. Don't leave me alone. Don't leave me alone. It's so cold, it's so cold Why did you leave me alone? Don't leave me alone. Don't leave me alone. Windy afternoon Windy afternoon Why did you leave me? Some words some words The sound of love or prayer Some music some music Music to call people or music to call souls Don't be silent don't be silent With the sound of hammers nails. Don't give off scent. Don't give off scent

"Close the gates!! "Close the fucking gates!! It was the watcher on the high towers screaming. "Ring the bells! Ring the bells; they are coming! His voice was so loud. There was confusion and fear as the bellman stared, making his way to the high tower. The drunk fool was using himself at a nearby gutter; he reeked of alcohol. He climbed to the tower of the bell and started ringing it. Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! The bell jingled, and the noise woke up the whole village.

His fear is the reason for so much silent atmosphere in my village which once used to be so cheerful. Suddenly a loud sound echoed around me. It continues to come. The center bell. There is a big bell in the center of the village. It is rung only at festivals or to indicate danger. Today there is no festival. Oh, God! This means that the king’s soldiers have attacked. I quickly start running towards my home.

Silence settled again. Veronica sat down slowly. Still confused. Still afraid. Because whatever this had become— It was no longer something she recognized. And deep down— She knew something else. This wasn’t going to end quietly. It wasn’t going to fade. It was going to explode. And when it did— No one in that room would walk away unchanged. Not Christiana. Not Joy. Not even her. And somewhere in the distance— A bell rang. Loud. Clear. Unavoidable.

The chime was coming. "Ahh! Ahh! ahh!" I cried, bracing myself for the bell that was about to ring all over my body and take me to another world. The moment it came, James shot into me but didn't stop pumping and I began to cry. I cried so much.

The church bells tolled at dawn, their mournful clang echoing through Black Hollow like a death knell. The sound carried on the crisp air, tugging Evelyn from the half-sleep she had finally drifted into. Her body still ached from the night before—her muscles sore, her mark tender, her thoughts fogged with exhaustion. But the moment she heard the bells, she knew. Another death.
