LOGINLilith's POV.
I did not understand what was happening. Alpha Oliver did not let go of my hand, not even for a tiny second. The further we moved from my home and deeper into the pack, the more noticeable we'd become; People stared openly, their gazes flickering between him and me with obvious disapproval. “Is that… Lilith?” “Why is she with the Alpha?” “Since when... "She better not jinx him with her curse.." The whispers kept following us as we walked, my instinct screaming at me to pull my hand away and run off but his grip remained tight. Shortly afterwards, the Alpha's mansion came into view; he actually brought me to his house? I had never been here before. I had seen it, of course, from a distance, and now, I'm walking towards it. The gate was opened immediately we stepped closer like they could sense the alpha close. I swallowed hard, my gaze lowering instinctively as we crossed into the mansion, my fingers tightening slightly within his grasp. We didn't stop, not even in the living room, he led me straight up the stairs, until we reached a door at the end of a quiet corridor. I didn't need to be told that it's his room, the realization hit me just as he pushed it open. And then... We were inside, and before I could even fully turn, he locked it. A flicker of unease rose within me, my body tensing instinctively as I took a small step back, my hand finally slipping from his. “Sit.” His voice broke through my thoughts. I hesitated. Just for a moment, then slowly, I lowered myself onto the edge of the seat as though ready to stand again at any second if needed, my hands resting awkwardly in my lap, my fingers twisting together nervously. “Why do they treat you like that?” he suddenly blurted. The question caught me off guard, not because it was unexpected, but because of the way he asked it. Although there was no judgment in his tone, just genuine confusion. I blinked, my gaze dropping slightly as I struggled to find the right words, though deep down, I already knew the answer, had always known it, had accepted it long ago as something unchangeable. “I don’t blame them,” I said quietly. “It’s not their fault.” His brows furrowed slightly. “How is it not their fault?” I let out a soft breath, my fingers tightening slightly in my lap as I forced myself to say my next words out loud. “I’m wolfless,” I replied, lifting my gaze just enough to meet his, though I couldn’t hold it for long. “That alone makes me… less in the pack, I'm a disgrace to them, so you see I deserve the way they treat me. He scoffed surprisingly. “Don’t.” Then his face tightened into a slight frown yet again. “Do not ever say that again, being wolfless does not make you weak.” I stared at him, because no one had ever said that to me before. Not once. “It does, Alpha,” I replied softly. “In this world, it... “No,” he cut in, stepping closer, his gaze locking onto mine with an intensity that made it impossible to look away this time. “What makes a person weak is how they choose to live, not what they are born without.” My breath caught slightly as I struggled to hold his gaze. “You walked into a cave you were supposed to be afraid of,” he continued. “You dragged someone heavier than you out of it, knowing you could be caught at any moment. You stayed, even when you could have left.” “And you think that makes you weak?” I didn’t know what to say,I just stared, blankly. “I won’t allow anyone to treat you like that again,” he suddenly blurted and my gaze shut up in total bewilderment. “Why?” I suddenly found myself asking, my gaze narrowing slightly as the confusion I had been holding back finally pushed forward. “Why do you want to help me? We haven't exactly met before, have we? And what cave did you mean please?" I was pissed now as I recalled that night, yes because he doesn't get to disappear after I risked my life to help him without saying a single word to me, only to reappear days later and try to play hero. He didn’t answer immediately , for a brief moment he just stared at me, then he chuckled. "You're pissed that I disappeared," Well, good thing he knows. "I did it for your safety Lilith,” he added finally and I stilled. “What?” I whispered. “If those men... or whoever sent them found out that you were the one who saved me,” he continued, his tone turning more serious now. “you would have become their next target.” A chill ran down my spine. “I…” My voice faltered slightly. “I didn’t think.. “I know,” he cut in softly. “Which is exactly why I had to make sure you were not seen with me when I regained consciousness.” I sat still, my fingers fidgeting uncontrollably against my laps. “Thank you,” he suddenly blurted, his gaze softening just slightly as it held mine. “For saving me. I owe you my life.” The sincerity in his voice caught me off guard. I looked away briefly, my fingers tightening slightly as I shook my head. “You don’t owe me anything,” I murmured. “Anyone would have done the same.” “That’s not true,” he replied immediately. I didn’t argue, instead, I let out a deep breath. “What happened?” I finally asked the question that had been lingering in my mind since the moment I saw him in that forest. "How did you end up there? Who were those men?” His expression shifted slightly. “I’m still trying to figure that out,” he said after a pause. “But I suspect… it wasn’t random.” My chest tightened slightly. “What do you mean?” He exhaled slowly, his gaze drifting briefly before returning to me. “The last thing I remember,” he began. “was having dinner, nothing unusual or out of place. And then… I felt dizzy.” “And when I woke up, I was in the forest.” A chill settled over me. “You think someone poisoned you?” I asked softly. “I know they did,” he replied. “I just don’t know who,” he added. Something about the way he said it made my stomach twist. “Someone close?” I asked. His jaw tightened slightly. “Yes.” "And while I figure it out,” he said slowly, “you’re going to help me.” I blinked, confusion flickering instantly. “Help you… how?” “You’re going to be my personal maid.” The words hit me hard against the ear. “What?” I whispered, my brows knitting together. “You’ll oversee everything I eat and drink,” he continued. “And everything else that concerns my safety, I'll pay you well, I promise.” My heart skipped slightly. “I don’t understand…” “You’re the only one who knows what happened in that forest,” he said simply. “Which makes you the only person I can trust completely right now.”Oliver's POV. For whatever reason, I found myself smiling as I adjusted the cuffs of my black shirt in front of the mirror. There was an important meeting with the Alphas of neighboring packs today.Normally, such meetings exhausted me.Hours and hours of politics and trades, yet for the first time in years, I found myself looking forward to getting it over with. Not because I enjoyed it.But because afterward, I intended to spend the rest of my day with Lilith. The thought alone softened my expression.Sweet goodness, that girl has ruined me, completely.Just thinking about her brought a smile to my lips; thinking about the tiny life growing inside her only made my chest warmer. Our child.I still wasn't used to the thought; and yet… I loved it.Loved every bit of it.And the amusing part of it all was forcing her to rest... I've been making sure she rested so much that she was practically climbing the walls from boredom. The poor girl looked genuinely offended every time I forbade
Oliver's POV.Lately, midnight had become special for one reason.Lilith.A smile found its way onto my lips as I leaned against the headboard of my bed, unable to stop myself from remembering the countless moments we had shared these past weeks. The way she still thanked me for the smallest things as though I wasn't the one who owed her everything. My hand unconsciously moved over my chest as that one constant thought in my head resurfaced. Our baby.Goodness, I still couldn't believe it.Who would have thought that Alpha Oliver, who had once thought himself incapable of love, would end up smiling to himself like a fool because of one girl? One sweet, stubborn, beautiful girl."Lilith…"Even saying her name made me happy.I was just about to lie down when three soft knocks sounded against my door.My eyes immediately lit up.That must be Lilith.A smile spread across my face so quickly that even I found myself laughing. Was she unable to sleep again?Had she come because she missed m
Lilith's POV. My heart almost stopped. There I was, gripping the sink for dear life while tears burned the corners of my eyes, and standing just outside the bathroom was the last person I wished hadn't witnessed any of this.Ria.For several seconds, neither of us spoke.I simply stared at her, and she stared back. Then, to my utter shock, her face twisted into annoyance."Oh, for goodness sake!""What?" I blinked frantically, my heart already hammering against my chest as I braced myself for the worst. She rolled her eyes dramatically before walking fully into the bathroom. "Seriously, Lilith? Again?"I frowned in confusion. Again?"What are you talking about?" I whispered carefully. She folded her arms and scoffed. "This pathetic act, you really are shameless."I stared at her blankly."You think vomiting will make me believe you're actually sick?" she snapped. "How far are you willing to go just to get Oliver's sympathy?"My eyes widened... and then, relief flooded me.She didn't
Lilith's POV. It had been a week since I was discharged from the clinic.A whole week since I had learned that I was carrying a tiny life inside me..Everyday I think about those words he'd said to me on the clinic bed. "You never have to thank me for loving you." Alpha Oliver loves me? There's no way I could believe that.Although, even now, remembering them made my cheeks warm, but yet, I didn't believe them.He probably said that to make me feel better; because how could it possibly be true? How could someone like Alpha Oliver love someone like me?He was everything.Powerful, ridiculously handsome, and respected across werewolf clans. While I…I was the wolfless disgrace; the girl people mocked. No matter how hard I tried, I simply couldn't imagine Alpha Oliver truly loving me.Not romantically, not the way I've found myself loving him.Maybe he had only said it because I had just gone through something traumatic.Maybe he had been trying to comfort me."No." I shook my head v
Oliver's POV.As the first rays of morning light filtered through the windows of the clinic, I found myself glaring at the light with resentment.Because it meant another night had passed.Another night of watching the woman I cared deeply about lie motionless on that bed; listening to the steady beeping of machines and praying to the Moon Goddess that they would continue.I had remained by her side the entire time, not once had I closed my eyes, even when the healers insisted that I rest, I refused.. because what if she woke up when I'd left? Or what if something bad happens and I'm not present to save her?But through it all, Lilith hadn't moved; not a finger. Not once. Each hour that passed had only increased the fear strangling my heart.Several times during the night, I found myself reaching for her hand just to reassure myself she was still there.Still breathing, and still with me.And every time I felt her warmth beneath my fingers, relief would flood through me all over again
Oliver's POV.The sound of the voice came again, and despite how faint and barely recognizable it sounded, it was enough for me.Because even if the entire world lost its voice, I would recognize hers."Lilith..."Every instinct inside me came alive at once, and when I slowly turned around, I wasn't surprised to find all the color draining from Nora's face while her father stood rooted to the ground like a man staring death itself in the eyes.I didn't need explanations anymore.. the fear written across their faces was enough."Where is she?" I asked quietly, my voice came out in a dangerous growl that made both of them shiver.Neither answered. Her father opened his mouth, perhaps intending to lie again, but another weak cry reached my ears, and this time there was no mistaking where it had come from.Everything inside me snapped, and without sparing either of them another glance, I stormed toward the back of the house, hearing their panicked voices behind me."Alpha!""Please!""It
