"Your face looked like a wrinkled prune, Maman!" Ricky howled, rolling around the wide mattress until his curls were a complete, messy disaster.
"It wasn't that bad, Coco, stop being a drama queen," Annie wheezed from the foot of the bed, wiping a tear of laughter from the corner of her eye.
"You try swallowing fluid cherry metal and see how you look," I growled playfully, though the sound of their bright, beautiful laughter was the best medicine I could have ever asked for.
