It felt… different. Calmer. Jordy stood there for a moment, just taking it in. Then he walked toward the back. The manager was there, going through some papers like always. He looked up when Jordy approached. “You’re early.” Jordy nodded slightly. “Yeah.” There was a brief silence. Then, “I wanted to talk to you.” The manager straightened slightly. “What’s up?” Jordy slipped his hands into his pockets, steadying himself. “Today’s going to be my last day.”

"You built an Entry. And an entry can be moved to a new ledger if the Banker is willing to endorse the loss. Trust me. Trust the werewolf." Thomas was doing calculations on his tablet, probably figuring out if they could liquidate assets fast enough to compete. "One hundred and forty million," I said. "Thirty-five-day close, all cash." "Gentlemen," Aaron interrupted. "Perhaps we should take a brief recess? Give everyone time to consult with their financial teams?" "Good idea," James agreed. "I need to make some calls." "Fifteen-minute break," Aaron announced, standing. "There's coffee and water in the side room."

“I do not know if you came to return them and seek a refund, but we can’t do that because we don’t sell these books anymore. I am about to leave now, so you have to leave first.” “Can I at least get one book?” Zion was already waiting for me to bring a new book home and read it to him before he fell asleep. Leaving without a book wouldn’t seem fair. “I am sorry, the store has closed. I can’t give you any because then I’d have to redo today’s sales, and it is already closing time for me!” She snapped at me, her tone not in any way polite. My teeth gritted, and I turned to leave when she spoke again. “You haven’t taken your books.” She told me, and I stopped and turned to her.

So, I went back to the drawing board with this book, reevaluating the plotline and taking my time to figure out how to wrap up this story and give it closure. Yes, the story is ending this month, hopefully, the last week of October, but I don't plan to drag it into November. Regular updates will start tomorrow. This month is also my final exams month, so the pressure is there. I read all the comments about you guys not wanting a long story, and I am not a big fan of that either, so let's bring this bad boy to an end and move on.

Michael explained "Michael I have something to show you first" June started and he nodded and they sat down together on the sofa. June opened her bag and then brought out the ledger and the finance book. Michael's mouth dropped open as he stared at it. "How did you get these June, they are so important that you shouldn't even take them out of the office," Michael said "I was asked to give an account on why the account book and the ledger isn't complete Michael and while I was checking it, I found out about how money has been missing from the company for a while now" June explained but Michael looked calm.

The first few files were documents of implementation that needed my husband’s signature and some of which were the previous month’s statement of accounts. Before I could lift my head off the files, I reviewed a knock on the door. “Who is there?”, I yawned tiredly as I lifted my head at the sound of the doorknob. My husband opened the door and my pen dropped in reflex. “It’s 4pm and it’s closing time”. The announcement came from an unexpected person but it gladdened my heart. I closed the files and turned off my computer. Gerald walked out and I could finally breathe. I picked my purse, unplugged my phone and I was ready to call it a day.

“Your account has been closed. We’d need full payment for all prior balances before we can book anything further.” I blinked. Closed? “But I’ve been a client here for years.” The woman finally looked at me. Pity. There was pity in her eyes. “Yes. But the card on file was declined. And your previous balance went unpaid for three months. We sent multiple notices. Unfortunately, we can’t reopen the account without a deposit and the outstanding balance cleared.” I felt the heat crawl up my neck. The other clients in the lobby were pretending not to stare, but I knew they were listening. I could feel it.

The finality of Julian Thorne’s death brought a strange, heavy stillness to the Scriptorium. For the first time in three generations, there was no Thorne plotting in a tower and no Vane hiding in a basement. The "Black Ledger" was a closed volume, and the "Living Script" had become the oxygen of a new global economy. But for Thomas, the silence wasn't empty it was vibrating.

Opens it again. Adds: The fourth book will be the last book for a while. Not because I will stop writing — the notebooks continue, the practice continues, the bowl is made again every day. But the four books together will say what I have to say in this form. After the fourth book I will return to the primary practice: the work, the clients, the table, the Tuesday mornings. The bowl, made correctly. Made again. She closes the notebook. The November morning continues. She goes to the desk.
