I guess Blake was suspicious if he was really meeting me and not someone else. Once all of us arrived at the scene, we see two guys fighting vigorously. My eyes widened when I see Rai’s hand start to turn into a weapon like last time. It wasn’t long before Blake sees it but thinks nothing of it because he pulls out a weapon of his own. He pulled out an ax and was ready to swing it towards Rai. Rai sees it and aims to swing his weapon not to block the ax but to land a hit on him before he does.

“We have flaming swords and the light of God… we will be just fine.” Bryden smiled and was ready to descend holding a blaster in his hand that I hadn’t noticed before. Rayna and I went ahead and began to do battle. There were flashes of light radiating from us as we battled, and I glanced Rayna’s direction she has certainly gained my moves and ability.

Richard whispers, his voice barely above a breath as he narrows his eyes, scanning the darkness for any sign of our unseen adversary. I nod in response, my heart pounding in my chest as a primal sense of danger courses through my veins. “Stay alert,” I caution, my voice low and steady as I draw my weapon, ready to confront whatever threat lies ahead. Suddenly, with a blood-curdling roar, the creature lunges from the shadows, its eyes gleaming with malice as it bares its razor-sharp teeth in a vicious snarl. Without hesitation, we spring into action, our blades flashing in the dim light as we engage our foe in a fierce battle for survival.

Ruby sprang to the ground in front of me, and raised her bow and arrows against the group of men in black. Some of them fell to the ground after being shot, while others continued to rush forward with their weapons. I leaned back against Ruby, holding in my hand the short dagger she had given me to fight the enemy. The enemy were far outnumbered by us, and my wounds, not yet sufficiently healed, limited my movements. By the time Ruby's arrows were finished, I was exhausted.

They attacked with full intensity, having no intention of holding back. A massive warrior lunged from behind, aiming a fist directly at the base of Ruby's neck. Ruby didn't even turn around. She relied on Lilian’s instincts, which were now working ten times sharper than before. She ducked with impossible speed, letting the punch whistle over her head, before spinning to strike the warrior’s knee with a brutal heel kick. A sickening crack echoed, and the man collapsed.

Cyrus sat cross-legged on the soft leather sofa, eyes fixed on the screen as if watching a performance. Zoey and Scarlett sat on either side of him in revealing pajamas. With slender fingers, they shelled sunflower seeds and pecans and fed them directly into his mouth. "Water," Cyrus said. Scarlett reacted at once and handed him a cup of warm water. Zoey, a half second slower, shot her an annoyed glance. The competition between the two women made Barbara and Keira uneasy. Keira scratched her head and broke the silence. "These Awakeneds are incredible. Their attack power already surpasses many heavy weapons. Are all ability users this strong?"

Relief crashes over me so hard it makes my head spin. Ryder strides into the kitchen with Remy right behind him, both of them stripped down to only shorts, their chests streaked with dirt and blood. They look wild from the fight, a feral green in their eyes. My gaze flicks over them instinctively, broad shoulders, tense muscles, the subtle cuts and bruises still healing before my eyes. They don’t look like men who just walked through hell. They look like predators who survived it. Ryder’s eyes scan the room, landing on me first before dropping to Leo’s unconscious form on the floor. His jaw tightens. “We need to move. It’s not safe here anymore.”

“But don’t worry, I’ll deal with you in time. I’m here for all of you.” I swallowed hard, the cold fear twisting deeper in my chest. Ross’s eyes were locked on me, dark and dangerous. He took a slow, deliberate step toward us, and Coby shifted his weight, readying himself for an attack. In a heartbeat, Ross lunged. Coby was fast, his claws out as he met Ross halfway, but Ross was faster. They collided in a blur of fur and claws, the force of the impact knocking them both to the ground. The sound of snarls and growls filled the air as they fought, rolling across the forest floor in a vicious struggle.

"Cara stay behind me... we're not alone," Roy whispered and pushed Cara gently so that she would stay back away from him. Roy stood on a stance, his claws and fangs clearly visible and was ready to fight whomsoever that came out of the bush. He took a glance at Cara and shook his head so she would say away a little backwards away from him as he had no idea who or what was inside the bush. Roy stood for a while but sighted nothing. He heard no sound and decided to check it out himself, knowing that someone or rather, something was there.

His claws glinted like steel, his twisted hands caught between human and wolf, and his glowing amber eyes burned with a hatred so palpable it sent shivers down Ryker’s spine. Despite the overwhelming aura of danger, Ryker stood firm, his posture unwavering. His sharp hazel eyes locked onto the advancing pair, and his grip tightened on his knife. Though the foul stench of rot and burning wood threatened to choke him, his expression remained stoic, a silent testament to his resolve. His muscles coiled like a spring, ready to defend or attack, as he mentally prepared himself for the battle that seemed inevitable.
