The veiled Charlotte fends off a troll that lunges at the mysterious hero by unwrapping her weapons. A metal clash echoes across collapsing stone walls as Mr. Trumpet looks back to see the troll who took the dagger from his corpse's dead body swiped the blade, causing a metal clash to reverberate across the crumbling stone walls. He is hurled to the side, the dwarf's skull smacking into a concrete pillar as though light as a feather. When Grumpy jumps into action, the troll jumps in as well, attempting to defend the small ones.

They were not that big but they were rolling down like they were being thrown at them. They stopped and looked at these rocks. They rolled down until they got to them, one ran over Ambrosia’s foot making him hiss in pain. When they stopped suddenly, they popped heads and feet appeared. They were Trolls. “Apologies if we scared you, my king.” One of them said. “They were really not lying when they said you guys look ugly,” Ambrosia said making Luka laugh, and the Trolls glare at him. He was still angry about being run over by one of them.

The sparse tufts of sickly grey grass made the whole land look even gloomier. Yet, as in all things in life, nature found perfect tenants. Trolls. They were huge creatures with thick grey skin that you could easily mistake for a stone and with big shiny diamond shaped eyes. They looked scary, and yet there was some inexplicable beauty in them. But the trolls were not the only inhabitants of Canestor. Deep underground there were whole cities decorated with gold and jewels, cities of the dwarves.

She appeared deep in thought, “No, it all happened in a flash, I saw it all happen and then I charged towards you then I saw the snake…” Dragomir didn’t understand what she was saying but he was going to probe later. He pulled the reins of his horse, she did the same, and then they began to ride in the direction from where they came. Then suddenly there was a loud outcry and an army of trolls emerged, they were very short like dwarfs, looked like they had aged centuries, dressed in drab clothing. Some had very large ears, noses and eyes. Their hair was balding, some had sores scattered over their already disgusting, wrinkly skins.

A servant boy drops the box he was holding and dives beneath one of the carriages, trembling. The stench of fear rises around me as we all simultaneously retreat. But trolls keep coming. They are massive, twice the height of any man, their bodies made of something that looks like living stone. Moss clings to their shoulders, and their eyes glow faintly like burning embers. Each step they take makes the earth groan. “Stay back!” one of the knights barks, drawing his sword. “I don't think they are going to listen to him,” Pip whispers, poking her head from my scarf.

The troll staggered toward Damas and collapsed at his feet, its life gone. His aspirations were reawakened by a loud applause. His amazement when it re-awakened was that it behaved similarly to zombies brought back to life by a mystical ritual. Someone has cast a spell on the unfortunate troll. His gaze was drawn upward by one of the troll's arms, which was seen to drag the lion off its back onto the dirt. They dropped to the ground, talons and fangs gnashing insatiably at the ground. However, it did not represent a comparable contest. The troll had grown significantly in size and weight. Suddenly, the crowd's volume increased by a factor of two, and the arena fell silent.

The trolls spoke their own language, and it was unlike anything I’d heard before. Their voices were deep and gravelly. They chatted among themselves and pretended not to understand me when I spoke, but I knew very well that they could. The smallest one was on my left, and seemed very taken with me. He was the only one who looked friendly, and eventually he started talking. I knew it! I knew they could understand me. “Tell me about trolls,” I asked. I’d found out his name was Cory and his dad was the leader of this clan. “How do you shape-shift?”

The pack moved cautiously, alert but undeterred. After several hours of walking, the group suddenly came to a halt as a rustling sound echoed through the trees ahead. Without hesitation, they fell into defensive stances, the wolves baring their teeth and the humans drawing their weapons. Emerging from the darkness were several towering figures—trolls, their massive forms lumbering into the moonlight. Damien’s heart pounded, his body tensing as he prepared for an attack. The trolls were enormous, with thick, gray skin and long arms that swung by their sides, but instead of charging, they stopped at a distance and raised their hands in a peaceful gesture.

The Trolls were lined up in front of Edmund, ready to take any order. "You're wrong, brother. I never give up, remember?" Edmund in the back chuckled as he played with his golden wand. "You're wrong too, Edwig. I'm better than you, and always will be!" Wiggy didn't answer again, only smiling crookedly as he pulled out his flute. "ATTACK!" Without warning, Edmund exclaimed as he raised his golden staff. The Trolls bellowed in unison at Wiggy, but the youth's agility overcame them. He flew into the air playing the flute. The next instant a pack of Pixies came like a high tide. The Pixies lunged at the Trolls and swarmed them.

"These are the trolls. They love singing and eating. Their life revolves in partying and sleeping. Also, they are known for being fond of anything sparkling, and so they used to hoard large amounts of gold and silver. Laying one's hands on these treasures is one of the chief rewards for getting the better of them." Professor Morgan started his lesson with a brief introduction about the background of Trolls. According to him, the reason why these trolls were kept in an underground chamber is for their own safety. Trolls have one fatal weakness, and that is the sun. Apparently, when a troll was exposed to sunlight it will immediately be turned into a stone. Being a lover of music and arts in n
