She didn't have to wait for very long though before it passed again; and this time, she caught a proper view. The first thing Megan saw was a pair of wings. They were long; so long in fact that they could easily be the length of a semi-truck. They were also slender, streamlined enough for presumably a smooth glide through the intense winds at the mountain top. Coming closer to the grounds, she saw that the wings sparkled in the sun like pieces of silver; several rainbow colours dancing off their edges whenever they caught the light properly.

She knew exactly what she had to do to make her wings appear but because she had never done it before, I knew it would take some time. All she had to do was picture herself with those gorgeous crimson wings on her back. She had to picture the features that were dusted with specks of black. She had to imagine and feel the added weight of them on her back. Imagine how they would look unfurled and how long they would be. Once she got used to it, this process would be a lot quicker.

I wanted to shut my eyes, but I couldn’t. I had not regained control over myself. I was high in the sky. My fear of falling to the ground made me pray for a safe landing. I didn’t know how it was possible for me to even fly. I had never noticed wings on my back before, but remembering what I saw in the memory orb of my father, I knew Faiths had translucent and delicate paper-like wings. They looked like those of a dragonfly. I must have had them as well.
