The air around him felt cold, distant.
A slow, mocking smirk began to curl on his cheek, a silent, cruel gesture that seemed designed to ridicule my claims, to press home the stark reminder of my perceived failure right before my very eyes. It was a sneer of utter contempt.
“Ah yes, another delusional female.” He sighed, the words dripping with a profound, almost theatrical boredom, as if he had dealt with countless women just like me. Without another word, he simply brushed past me, his movement dismissive and cold. “The Butler would see you out.”
