Brielle lets out a blood-curdling scream of pure agony as the dark magic sears her flesh, her body going completely limp in Coralie's grip. "He will come for you, little wolf," Coralie whispers into Brielle's ear as my sister slips into unconsciousness. "Because if he doesn't, I will send your severed head to the Hawthorne Crown Residence in a silver box." Coralie tosses Brielle's unconscious body over her shoulder like a sack of grain and turns toward the dark forest. "Leave the brother in the mud to crawl back to High Alpha Hawthorne," Coralie commands her warriors, her cold voice disappearing into the roaring wind. "Tell Everett his mate is waiting in the border pits."

She took a step towards her room, and stopped abruptly in her tracks as she saw Winter walking towards her. "No. This can't be." She mumbled under her breath, and sighed. A confrontation with Winter was the last thing she wanted. She soon got closer to her with a look of disgust on her face. "What is going on here?" Winter asked, staring up and down at Scarlett. She looked at her bare legs with an unsmiling face. "What happened here? Did...you spend the night with the king??" Winter bellowed. "It seems so." Coraline replied casually, earning a cold stare from Winter.
