LILY The snow hadn’t stopped falling since dusk. It came down in soft sheets, muting the world into something unreal — like the universe itself was holding its breath. Inside the chalet, the fire glowed low and golden, painting the walls in amber. The scent of cedar and smoke filled the air, and somewhere in the distance, a storm rumbled like it couldn’t quite reach us. Jake was by the window, a glass of whiskey in his hand. He wasn’t watching the storm — he was watching me.

He released my neck before lifting my two hands above my head and capturing them in one hand, rendering me completely helpless before tugging my jaw upwards with his free hand. "Oh Snow, you don't know what you do to me." I shivered at those whispered words just as he finally covered my lips with his, trapping my husky moans in. Caramel-Roseline My stomach knotted, my view was blurred, my feet tickled, my whole head spined and all the volcanoes in the world burnt my brain to ashes due to the shock blended with excitement that pumped in my freezing blood. Glancing at Snow's expression, Norah knew she had hit Snow where it hurt, and she continued, "It is so pathetic having your sweetheart right in front of you, but you can only watch from afar as he and another woman make out. It is so sad." As Norah kept fanning the flames, Snow was getting pissed. "That is enough. Stop it." Norah felt it was time and turned to look squarely at Snow. "If you want to take your sweetheart back from someone else's arms, I can help you." Snow slowly turned to look at her, then shot a glare at her. "That won't be necessary." With that, she got up and left. Norah looked at Snow, who walked away, and smirked. "You will come to me of your own accord."

I growled, my voice rough and thick with the tension burning through me. Chloe’s smile didn’t falter. If anything, it grew bolder, her eyes gleaming with the same dangerous mix of curiosity and desire that had been driving me insane since the day we met. “I think I do.” Before I could stop her, she took my hand and placed it on her waist, her skin hot and soft beneath my palm. The sensation sent a shockwave of heat through me, my resolve cracking under the weight of her touch. She leaned into me, her breath warm against my neck as she whispered, “I’m not afraid of you, Lucian.”

"Lord Calor says the next snow will bury you. He says the council will salt the earth where your name is carved." Selena's lip curled. "Then we'll carve it deeper." Kieran's blade flashed once. The man's head hit the snow with a soft thud, steam curling from the stump like a final prayer. They stood together as the wind rose again, carrying the scent of blood and ash across the orchard. Selena slipped her hand into Kieran's, their breath mingling in the frost-hushed dark. "We hold?" he asked. She nodded. "We hold."

A sexual tension settled down on us and I was about to ignore all the warning signs and kiss him when I heard Aiden's voice behind me. “Congratulations Isla” I immediately pulled away from Jaxon and cleared my throat before turning around to meet Aiden. He had a smile on his face that didn't quite reach his eyes as he glanced between Jaxon and I. “You deserve it” He added and I pursed my lips. He knew Moonlace had been stolen by Cassandra and had done nothing to help me then so him congratulating me now felt performative. “Thank you” I murmured and he smiled then gave Jaxon one last stare before walking away.

The moment he saw me, a flicker of light burst into his clouded eyes. Then, with a heavy thud, he dropped to his knees in the deep snow. The sound of his knees crashing into the frozen ground was dull and painful, almost like a cry of despair. “Summer…” His lips trembled as he spoke. The icy wind tore his voice apart, and his teeth chattered violently with every word. [System! How much time is left?! Hurry! I can’t hold on much longer!] [That bitch actually hid herself in a godforsaken place like this?!]
