I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended. For a second I felt as if I had just walked into a video game or something, it was difficult to determine if the Indian Santa Clause was driving a taxi or a roller coaster. "Dude, you can drive slowly!", I said as he just ignored it! "He knows his work.", Akansha said, reluctantly placing her hand on mine. I looked at her sharply as she immediately immediately removed her hand, pretending to tuck her hair back with it, awkwardly.

The taxi driver, a middle-aged man with a balding head and a pair of aviator sunglasses, replied in a calm but slightly amused tone, “Madam, I am following the rules of the road. I can’t just drive faster because you said so.” Crystal huffed in frustration, then reached into her bag, pulled out a fat bundle of cash, and dumped it onto the passenger seat. “Now, will you drive faster?” The driver’s eyes widened at the sight of the money. His professionalism crumbled instantly. “Yes, ma’am. You have no idea how fast I can drive.”

Maybe what just happened made me lose my mind to think about other things. As my taxi was about to leave New York City, five other cars suddenly surrounded the taxi. Then, two cars sped forward, blocking the front of the cab. The taxi driver and I looked at each other with panicked eyes. I know, I'm about to be in trouble. "Could it be someone from Darius?" I thought to myself.

"Please hurry." During the whole ride home, I kept looking over my shoulder out the back window, expecting to see a fleet of cars following the cab. I thought Zyran’s men would try to run me off the road. But the street behind us was clear, he actually kept his word. The taxi screeched to a halt in front of my apartment building. I threw a crumpled bill at the driver and ran inside. I didn't wait for the old elevator, I sprinted up the three flights of stairs, i reached my door, hands trembling violently as I fumbled with my keys. The metal scraped against the lock.
