She was making a Crema catalana with a twist by adding fresh-cut fruits to it. Crema catalana is a creamy dessert and is a Spanish custard dessert very similar to crème brulee. She was planning to add it to the menu plan for the weekend desserts once she had perfect the taste of it. It was almost done as she was doing the finishing touch when Gino found her in the kitchen and accompanied her. She asked him to taste it and he gladly obliged.

Meredith pushed the thought out of her mind and spooned up the whipped cream. She found that it was not just whipped cream but it looked to be a torte. She tasted each part individually. She said and started preparing a mocktail, using 1/2 fresh cucumber - peeled and diced, squeezed out the juice from 1 lime, and added 1/2 oz of simple syrup (made by dissolving equal parts sugar and water). Muddling the diced cucumber in a cocktail shaker to release its juices, she added lime juice and syrup to the shaker, along with some ice. She then shook it well to combine the flavors and strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice. Topping it off with sparkling water for a refreshing fizz.
