we've managed to pull out of the fire. The ones who've survived the Council's 're-education' centers. The ones they called Omegas." Her voice was thick with a nauseating irony. "They're not too happy about trusting others, especially someone who was once so close to Crayons Arthur.""They.re not required to believe in me," Sama Arthur told them, her gaze never wavering from theirs as she walked towards the group. "They simply need to hate the same creatures I hate."._. She stopped several feet away from them, her presence as commanding as her tone. The Omegas, men and women of mixed ages, lifted their faces, and their expressions were wary. "I'm Sama Arthur. And I'm here because I want to de

I just love my bestie. I begin looking around and see Mom and Dad talking to Sarah, Alpha Drake’s mom. She is like a second mother to me. I just love my new pack family. I see Drake coming down the stairs talking with his Beta Wayne. It looks serious, I hope all is well. So far most of the students from school are here and I can’t help but not see Lucas around. “Where is Lucas?” I asked my sister. “I don’t know, he promised to be here.” She said frowning.

I asked gently, hoping something in those pages might help rather than only wound further. Kade turned the journal carefully in his hands, as if it might crumble from the weight of what it held. "Pages of ordinary things at first," he said. "Complaints about council meetings. A note about missing me at supper one evening. It reads like any other year of her life, right up until it doesn't." Kade turned several more pages carefully, his breath catching suddenly at whatever he found there. "She suspected Halric wasn't working alone," he read aloud slowly. "She names someone else. Someone she trusted completely, right up until she realized her mistake."

*Dawn* I turned the page of yet another one of these history books. I didn’t feel any better after my talk with Craig. I had told him that I could trust him but I didn’t know if I actually could. He was still hiding stuff from me. I knew it. But I also knew that there was no one else who could help me delve more into the world of shifters than him. Shifters. My life was a literal joke at us point, I swear. How did I go from normal average 20 year old to researching on the powers of the Moon Goddess?

The room fell into a stillness as everyone halted, their attention fixed on Mathias. "You claim to be an alpha, preaching about betrayal and the greater good of humanity. Yet, in truth, you embody the epitome of betrayal. Your love extends only to yourself. In fact, you are no true alpha..." Mathias began, his voice resolute, recounting the revelations contained within the book.

"Miss, this is a brilliant move!" Later, Maia spoke up and asked, "Baz, was Paine's relationship with him really good?" Baz knew who Maia was referring to as "him" and immediately replied, "Yes, Mr. Paine and Mr. Cedric have a very good relationship. Mr. Paine is not what the rumors claim him to be. You can be assured that he is absolutely reliable and trustworthy. He has known Mr. Cedric for over ten years. Mr. Cedric even told me before that he wants Mr. Paine to support you."

Taking the paper, he stared at it just as wide-eyed as I had. Gaining control of my body, I swallowed the bile rising and protested, “No, he is not to be trusted.” I shook my head and leaned back on my chair to create space, taking deep breaths to calm my nerves. The sight of his name made me shiver, I had goosebumps settling over my skin and a chill snaking up my back. “No he is not, but he knows how to find people that don’t want to be found.” Veronica countered. “If there’s one thing I know about him, he can get the job done. But you should know that he rarely takes jobs so you will need to plead your case.”

After a few side glances between them, a woman came forward with her head held high. “I’m Xela, the Alpha of the Spruce Cove pack. We are answering the call to fight alongside the Goddess.” When the woman reached me, she placed a knee on the ground and bowed her head. I looked at her pointedly and sighed. Jordan called the Faiths the 'Moon Goddess.' I must resemble what they have been told the Moon Goddess looked like. It flattered me, but it made me feel like I was an imposter, since I didn’t view myself as such.

They were both taken aback, Cwena looked up at the window to see if anyone was there and Gerey stared at the door, expecting anyone to come in at that moment. “I'm the book you dolts!” the book said in a boring, matter-of-fact voice, “you didn't expect me to be a dumb book that bears the tickles of an inked feather tingling on its pages do ya?!” “Uhm, no - no. Not at all,” Cwena put in mildly, trying hard to hide the look of disbelief at what she could see right before her, on the gathered hay. The book remained silent, twisting its lips like a female putting on a gloss, “Well, I'm Cwena Engow, and this is Gerey -”
