Its arms were folded over its bare chest, long dark fingers and claws that didn’t seem meant only to cut but to suck. The legs, muscular, ended in deformed feet with raised heels and curved claws. But what caught the most attention was the tail: long, alive, with black blades at the end, reminiscent of the scythe of a vengeful entity. A symbol of death that slithered like a serpent. It was curled in a fetal position, floating, as if trapped between the world and something worse. Sasha approached slowly, his amber eyes lit with hungry curiosity. “What the fuck is this?” he whispered.

Among the broken pieces and toppled figurines, two dolls stood upright, untouched, staring at me with their glassy, painted eyes. My breath hitched as I took a step closer, unable to tear my gaze away. It felt like my lungs had seized up, the room suddenly too small, too suffocating. I recognized them instantly. The first doll wore a bright red jacket, a tiny top hat perched at a jaunty angle on its head. In its small porcelain hand, it held a miniature whip—clearly a lion tamer. The second doll was equally striking, dressed in a striped leotard with exaggerated muscles stitched into its arms, like a cartoonish depiction of a circus strongwoman.

We went straight to Daisy's locker. "What are we doing?" Jessica asked. I pulled out Daisy's wolf doll. "We're going to destroy this." "That's just a toy," Sarah said. "It's not just a toy," I said. "It belonged to her dead mother. It's the only thing she has left of her." I took out a knife and cut off the wolf's head. Then I pulled out a fake vampire head I had bought at the costume store and sewed it onto the doll's body.

Living, but not fully alive. From a lifeless doll, a being emerged, taking form of a humanoid, yet different from them. With fingers elongated and circles of metals that swirled it’s ghastly fingers forming several rings, and elongated body which is covered in white cloth. It’s pale face tilted up. Tyr who would usually giggled uncontrollably went still as her face pulled into a tight expression. “As I thought…” She sauntered to the newly formed being and grabbed it’s face by it’s skinny chin. “My precious child is more beautiful than a doll like you.”

A cold chill tousled through the hairs on the back of my neck and filtered down my spine, prompting me to spin around and make it back towards the front of the door when my eyes were drawn into something I had not really noticed previously. A dazzling porcelain doll sat competently on a rocking chair, facing my direction. She initially appeared to be expensive and visually striking, as if she has a million bolts of charm and glamour lurking beneath her smile. Her ocean-blue eyes have depths of innocence in them, and it seemed as though an inevitable gravity was dragging me in to explore those vast sets of orbs.

My eyes are too bright. If the camera could dip down, it would show the other slides in the background. There were dozens of them, all different heights and sizes. Some of them were low, the top framed with the colorful cartoon-mold of an animal head—an elephant or a lion or a whale. Something smooth and open-mouthed. Some of the other slides looped and turned, a gravity pull shaped in serpentine. Climbing the ladder to get to the top would be too much for some kids. So much strain on thin wrists and shaky legs, fighting vertigo and bad coordination.

Jay was gone. Jess tried to turn to run but was unable to pull her feet from the tar. She tried to dig out of it. The more she clawed at the substance the more took its place. Jess suddenly became aware of the thing standing over her. She could feel it breathing on her and she saw its giant claw like feet. Jess was to scared to look up but allowed her eyes to creep up inch by inch. She found herself staring into it's eyes. She let out a ear-piercing scream. “Gotcha pretty girl.” It snarled before opening its mouth and swallowing her whole.

“He hung me up, I think. My throat’s been weird this whole morning. I thought I was coming down with something, but it felt kind of suffocating? So I think the doll probably got hung from something.” “Like those sunny dolls? What kind of kink is that?” I frowned and softly touched the doll’s neck. There was a sewing crease there, so it made sense for wrinkles to appear around that area. I could imagine the doll being tied up and hanging like a sunny doll. The more I looked, the more the sight of the crease began to irritate me. It almost looked like someone had wrapped a rope around its neck. I wanted nothing more than to smooth it out.

Also, it was still a little bit cold. After a while the ghost in front of the siblings began to change its shape, form, and size. There's a time when the heads of the girl and the scary doll shifts and when the girl's head turns to 360 degrees. But the most nerve-tingling stuff is when the scary doll merges with the little girl's body, forming a huge scary monster that has red eyes as red as blood, messy hair, razor-sharp teeth covered with blood, and long pointy nails. "Helppp!!!" the two shouted in a still terrified voice. They ran towards Raine and grabbed her out the room.

The sudden kiss caught me by surprise, but I did my best to control my heartbeat and breathing so I looked like an actual doll. He pulled back and started kissing downward. Then he tore my clothes off. That madman! Where was the tail? Come on, show up already! As if hearing my quiet wish, Nathaniel's legs turned into a serpent's tail, and it took up all the space on the bed. The tail slithered up my ankle, caressed my skin, and moved further upward. I shivered. Couldn't help it. "I bought you tons of toys just to make you happy, babe." He touched me. "So, do you want the toys, or my tail?"
