This thing in my lap is green amidst her dark, red vomit— she had coughed up some of Rome's blood. But that is the least of my concerns. I am more concerned why this strange green thing has been coughed up along with the blood. This greenish organism is in the shape of a slug; something I have never seen before. The tiny creature wiggles its body repeatedly in the space of my thighs, scurrying around as it looks for another host to feed on and poison.

The long thin thing that Svetlana had seen on the stairs was still there, as immobile as a log. Perhaps it was a log . . . but then the thing stirred and slithered down the stairs. It looked like a slimmer version of the krovosos but Svetlana saw, just in time, that instead of a leech-like proboscis crowned with a cartoonish human face, it had a bunch of pointed serpentine heads that thrashed and squirmed in the dank air. “Hydra,” she hissed into Andrei’s ear. “Stand still.”

These creatures look exactly like the bastard I saw that night at the pack river, their long, thin bodies coated with thick, dark slime. Their eyes are big and slitty, glowing a vicious red with their claws and fangs.

He had pissed himself, probably out of fear. Slade sniffed all the way up his body, until his nose was just inches with the man’s face.

The bad type. Chiara ceased writhing, and her breathing returned to normal. She appeared to have lost consciousness. Yet, what truly disturbed me was the movement beneath her skin. I thought I was hallucinating at first; howbeit, I saw it again. This time, it was creeping out of the open wound on her chest. The creature looked like a large slimy slug at first, but at a second look, I came to realize what it really was. It was a Simus. A soul eater.
