A small heart with a V inside it sat on the tip of the moon. I'm assuming the V was for Viseron. It was really beautiful. I could feel his eyes on me, the mate bond telling me exactly where his eyes were staring. "I love it." I turned to look at him, walking over and giving him a small kiss. He smiled at me, wrapping his arm around my waist and sitting me on his lap. He rested his forehead at the nape of my neck, rubbing his lips against the mark he left.

"And…I got something off him. During the fight.” She held up her phone. Liora crossed the room and took it. A photograph. Blurred at the edges, bad lighting — taken fast, maybe mid-struggle — but clear enough. The inside of a wrist. A tattoo. Intricate. A wolf's head in profile, geometric, something woven behind it that looked like a crescent or a gate or both at once. Lettering beneath that she couldn't quite read. Something about it pulled at her.
