A short, sharp sound left my throat. Then another. And before I knew it— I was laughing. Ryder frowned. Cole exchanged a confused glance with Jaxson. None of them understood it. None of them could feel the hysteria bubbling in my chest like I was choking on the weight of my entire life. My laugh grew louder, shakier, until it sounded like a broken sob mixed with something unhinged. “Of course,” I finally said, wiping my wet cheeks as another tear slipped out. “Of course she did.”

Her laugh had that high-pitched, wheezy chaos to it — the kind of sound that came from the gut, like she was unhinged and delighted and fully prepared to emotionally destroy me before breakfast.

We had just scared each other half to death. The absurdity of it all slammed into me so suddenly that I could not stop myself. I burst out laughing. At first it was just a small sound that escaped my chest, a breathy giggle that surprised even me. Then it grew, spilling out in waves, until I had to bend slightly at the waist, my free hand pressing against my stomach as laughter shook through me. “Oh my God,” I said between breaths, tears stinging the corners of my eyes. “You two screamed like a pair of teenage girls in a haunted house.”

I laugh uncontrollably, screaming, squirming and trying hard to break free from him and his attacks. “You want to laugh? I’ll give you something to laugh about.” He says, not stopping for a moment. I laughing so hard right now that tears are threatening to fall out my eyes. “Stopppppppp” I yell amidst laughter. “Say please.” “Pleaseeeeeee” I can fill my throat tighten from laughing so much. “Say you’re sorry.” “I’m sorryyyyy.” I plead before he finally stops. I laugh for some time before I finally catch my breath. Wiping the tears that escaped during the attacks.

Despite of my face being soaked with my own tears and myself letting out silent sobs, I couldn't help, but laugh after of what you said. You just won't let me cry in peace, will you? I tried to fucking hold back the stupid tears that were beginning to roll down my cheeks. "Oh Mama, please don't do this, seeing you cry breaks my heart," Logan stepped closer, his hand reaching to my face, I took a step back, letting out a painful chuckle that turned to a laugh, I laughed so hard, tears rolling down my cheeks, not stopping me from laughing like an insane person, I shook my head repeatedly and turned my attention back to him, his brow knitted together as he stared back at me.
