She starts to giggle and we devolve into a fit of laughter before we're both able to settle ourselves down.

I laughed so loud, the whispers of my house workers died down. "Damn..Richard, I am honestly so sorry for laughing like that." I was still giggling a little. Beads of hot tears streamed down my eyes one after the other. You know that kind of laughter you get, when you are so pained and fed up with everything. So you just have to laugh. I reached out my fingers, wiping the tears of my face gently. I swallowed hard, controlling the remaining tears that gathered in my eyes.

I felt broken, and what I needed was a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. “You don’t sound like it.” my mother said, her eyes bore into mine and I couldn't hold it again and wept like a child. Mother did not say anything, she held me close to her and stroked my hair as I cried. “It’s going to be okay,” she said, cajoling me as if I were a child. She brought a box of tissues and kept it beside me. I took some and blew my nose feeling better and embarrassed at the same time.

His body shook as he laughed, gasping and heaving… He laughed as tears gathered in his eyes. He laughed until he started to sob.
