The morning of departure dawned clear and cold, the first true chill of autumn frosting the grass of the Nightclaw clearing. Lira stood at the head of the largest force the territories had assembled since the march to the Black Mountain. The banners of the Compact snapped in a brisk north wind — Ironmaw's iron fist, the Western Pact's silver tree, the Eastern Enclave's crescent moon, the Southern Refugees' interlocking paws, and a new banner, added just the previous night: Nightclaw's own dark wolf silhouetted against a field of stars, stitched by the paws of elders who had watched Lira grow from a frightened pup into a leader.

Chapter 33: Her Touch Was Louder Than the Screams The sky outside hadn't gone back to normal. If anything, the red seam looked angrier now — thicker, like a scar splitting wider, pulsing faintly as if it had a heartbeat. The light leaking from it wasn't just eerie anymore; it was unnatural. These things were complemented on the color of the uniform of what the students wearing. The Black, the crimson, and the emerald. Black for Owls of Academe Department, Crimson for Phoenixes of Art and Entertainment Department, and Emerald for Snakes of Sports Department. All students are standing on column, corresponds to the line of their sections. They didn't shift into common wolves; they fought in their massive, semi-humanoid Lycan forms, wielding heavy iron broadswords and silver-rimmed shields.

Scarlet exclaimed as she covered Lilac's eyes. "Bite me, princess." Crimson replied as he stood in front of the air conditioner. "It's too hot to wear something like this." I sighed and sat down next to Crimson. "You guys really never get tired of fighting, do you?" "Princess is just too sensitive." "I heard that!" Scarlet interrupted us. Crimson sighad loudly and put his shirt back on. "So, how was it?" He asked as he looked at me. "You guys were really cool." I replied. "Still, it's hard to believe that the Crimson from the stage earlier and the Crimson right now are the same person. I wish you were always that refined."

Daiji continued, introducing the pair of Kitsune flanking them with a jerk of his head in each of their directions. “Tsk, tsk, tsk, girl. Get any angrier and you’ll be as crimson as my nails,” Navin spoke…and wiggled her fucking fingers in my face. “I got them done just before we left to come here. I wanted yellow, but I figured Soaré would be wearing the color.”

And even more-so, to have the town’s Alpha take mercy on me.
